An excellent self defense and general purpose knife, in green color scales
I have the Eafengrow EF131 and I liked it so much I bought its younger brother EF132. While the EF131 is great for camping, survival, bush crafting due to it thick stock and super robust tip its drop point tip isn't that great for thrusting. This is where the EF132 excel. The blade shape is almost like a modified tanto but with longer curved and pointy tip and that is great for thrusting and tip cutting. There is a slight recurve on the rest of the cutting edge and that is a good thing. Recurve edge helps with cutting tough stuffs such as ropes and peeling tree branches skin and feathering woods. There is a distinct point at the junction of the tip curve edge and the transition to recurve edge, this point allows for snap cut and great for separating tough animal skin. The thickness at the tip is normal for this type of knife but not as strong as that of the EF131. There is a triangular cut out on the spine which I see serves no real purpose other than for look, however, that weaken the blade and I do not recommend batoning with this knife. I have the EF131 for that and this EF132 is for self defense against two-legged or four legged aggressors and some camping survival functions. When you hold the knife in your hand you immediately feel most of the weight is in the handle and the balance point is one inch behind the front of the handle. It takes some getting used to because it feels like the knife want to point upward. The factory edge is sharp but not hair shaving sharp, I stropped the knife on green compound leather belt for about 10 times on each side and the knife is now hair shaving sharp. The sheath is good with right amount of retention. Same as with other Eafengrow fixed blade knives with kydex sheath the belt clip is mounted midway on the sheath and that makes the handle ride too high and it is awkward to withdraw the knife. As I did with the EF131 sheath I replaced the included belt clip with a rotatable clip so I can wear the knife lower vertically and rotate downward to withdraw or reinsert the knife. Overall the Ef132 is great all purpose (except batoning) defense knife. At $39 price point this is an excellent value for a knife with a good design and high grade DC53 steel.

Great knife. Period!
Don't care it was made in China. It was made on planet Earth. It came razor sharp and the handle is surprisingly thicker than my perception of the pictures, which also means the blade is a good size as well. The knife IS heavy but I love the weight of it. I got the green handle and it looks amazing in person. The sheath is good but be warned, you cannot hang your sheath upside down and hide it under shirt because there is no snap. The sheath does hold the knife snug but the moment you have to hop a rock or gate etc, the force will pop it out! So right side up carry only. The craftsmanship is superb and hard to tell difference with my more expensive blades.

Nice Knife
I like the knife it seems well built and it was Hair-shaving sharp when I got mine. I like the handle and the design of it, but the cutout is a little weird to me. It seems like it would just weaken the blade and throw off the balance of the knife a little and the Screws holding the handle on are shiny chrome which doesnt go with the rest of the knife from an aesthetic standpoint I might find some black ones to replace these. But functionaly the knife seems great i love the handle and the stone washed finish looks great. Sheath seems Like great quality too.

Decent all around blade
Edit: the sharpening honeymoon has ended. This blade does not hold a good edge. I've tried multiple sharpening methods and it won't get back to how it was originally. Knocked to 3 starsThis is my favorite eafengrow knife! It's got a good, substantial grip that you can really grip into. At first I didn't like it but I slightly sanded down the grip at it's sharp points and rounded off the Kydex sheath. It disappears when I carry iwb. It's a good and sturdy knife which I think will hold up for self defense. The tip has held up and while it didn't come super sharp it was easy enough to sharpen with my work sharp field sharpener. I used it to prep some chicken and it went through it like butter! To my understanding dc53 is an upgraded form of d2 which should hold up nicely. For the price you can't ask for better. It's a little heavy but the blade stock is so thick it aids to the strength so I think that's a fair trade off. I'm pleased a couple of minutes with the Dremel to soften the edges of the sheath of highly recommended for easier carry.

Nice blade
It is a very nice blade , good weight, but I shouldn't have to sharpen it right out of the box.

Awesome quality heavy steel blade shape bites into on back stroke not just slip thru
This is a excellent belt knife,,or plate carrier knife,, tie downs are easy to do with the eye hole glass breaker butt, it Fitts is scabbard snug and zero battle rattle is heard, I tie things down well and don't carry exposed free for anyone with hands to grab off your person,, I never wear neck knifes or anything that could be grabbed and pushed straight back into, so I do tie down if I was carrying this exposed, really like the blade shape, and the glassbreaking butt, this is definitely one I rather have and not need than need and not have..
