Q: What country are these from?

I'm not sure, they are sold by several distributors, mostly from China.

Q: Are they too tight around the top of the sock - I have a major problem with spandex or elastic. thanks.

They aren’t!! I am 5’7” and 130lbs, but for some reason I have big ankles. You can’t tell, but normal socks don’t fit. They are uncomfortable and leave rings around my ankles. These are perfect: they stay up without being tight, and are cute to boot!

They do have threads but they are soft and well made. These socks are very comfy. The video shows the inside. Hope this helps. 🙂
