Works great for me! I only needed to store about 7-8 belts but I had quite a few different closure styles to accommodate and this worked for all of them except the belt with no holes, which I draped over the top just fine.I like this because before I was rolling my belts to store them and I felt they were creasing and becoming deformed and now I can hang them without taking a lot of space and it looks neat and organized as a bonus.The hanger itself is quite durable, so I do think you could comfortably fit 20+ belts on this hanger without making it difficult to take them off, but I don't know about 40.

Gets the job done, just make sure you keep it balanced. Hooks can swivel, kind of cramped but it is a space saver.
