Q: Can extra base stations be purchased?

I purchased a second complete kit and sync'd the second base station to the original set of sensors. Both stations report info from the original three sensors. Sensors from the second kit I will keep as spares. I now have a base station in two different rooms for convenience. It would be nice if a replacement base station was available, but I suspect it would cost about the same as a full kit.

Q: What is the temperature range? Can one unit go in the attic?

The manufacturer specifications claim: Indoor 32F to 140F, Outdoor -40F to 140F: Accuracy is +- 2 Degrees F Humidity Indoor/Outdoor range is 10-99% Relative Humidity with +- 5% Accuracy between 20-90% Relative Humidity. My attic can easily reach 140F in the summer here on the Gulf Coast. I would not recommend using one of these in the attic due to the stress it would place on the battery. Batteries don't do well in extreme heat or cold. For my attic, if the ambient temperature reaches 95F, then the attic (which is ventilated) is near the 130 to 140F range.

Q: Is there an option to keep the backlight always on?

No, It is a great little unit and works very well. If I do pick it up at night I just press the middle button. The light stays on more then 10 seconds. I don't use the light much as it will cause the batteries to run down sooner.

Q: Which display do you start first?

There's only one display. Turn that on 1st then one by one, turn on the sensors. It took a while for all of them to report in..a while being 10 minutes, but they all worked and are still working. I have them in the RV. One on the ground under the RV (it sits on top of a piece of foam) and that tells me what the temp and humidity is underneath the skirted RV. Then the other two are in two bays in the RV basement that have water pipes. I keep an eye on those as the bays are heated with a 75 watt light bulb. So far, when the temps been as low as 17 degrees, the bays have stayed at 55 degrees and 30% humidity. It works great! Highly recommend.
