Fun but messy
I would definitely buy this again my son loved it (he’s 7) This is definitely an outdoor project (we did it inside due to the weather). We also got impatient and soaked it in water for a couple hours and it was much easier to work with but that’s where is got super messy. All in all it’s a great product.

My nephews loved this!!
We gave these to my nephews on Christmas Eve. It took us two hours to do them. If we weren’t helping it would have taken ALL Day! Great activity!

Fun
Was for my sons birthday gift. We enjoy these as a family as well. This one I gave a 4 only because I was cleaning up green from my floors and for a couple of days. Other than that it was fine. It came with more rocks than i actually realized. It was cool. Will most definitely look into buting more from amazon. I usually would buy from walmart and target.

Fun kit
My 9-year-old son loves dig kits, and this one is no different. In contrast to most blocks, this one is not round or square. I believe they were going for a look like the inside of a geode. It comes with everything you need to dig, and it kept him busy for a good hour. There are many gems that were found, and they are dime and quarter sizes. When finished, the gems can be placed in a mesh bag or displayed in the airtight glass container that comes with the kit. This is a really great kit for anyone who enjoys excavating and gems.

It's ok.
My 7yo had a lot of trouble getting the gems out with the tools provided. She just doesnt have the patience or attention span to chip away at it for long periods of rime. Ultimately my husband ended up breaking it apart with a hammer. She enjoys displaying the crystals she found, but I think there are better options out there especially for younger kids.

Fun and comes with everything you need to dog
This kit is super fun for kids. Our kids loved digging and finding gems. There are lots of accessories with this kit like plastic tubes with cork tops to examine your gems and a cute little bag to hold all your gems and more. Digging is not too hard but does require some patience. The only issue is there will be green dust on everything nearby and all over the kids. Haha. The smooth colorful gems are worth the work. Some gems are bigger than others but none that are tiny. Great quality dig kit and we highly recommend this.

Fun activity for kids who love nature
Fair warning; this is a messy project haha. Clear some table space or toss a trash bag on the floor, though, and you can clean it up easy enough. And it is so worth it for the joy of watching your kiddo uncover the gorgeous stones inside. My only hesitation with gifting is the box was in rough shape—not physically damaged so much as it was scuffed up and worn. However the product inside was totally fine. :3

Cool Science Project for Children
This is a great activity to stimulate your child's desire to learn about science. My son (6yrs old) spent about an hour working on it. The tools that come with it would make it a very though project. I gave him a small, real hammer, and some wood files. He uses the files to "saw" and as a chisel with the hammer. Water is also required to help with the process. Its a fairly messy project. I had him do it inside of a cardboard box. I should have had him use his activity tablecloth under the box but did not. Most of the dirt/dust went into box, but some of the mess didn't. The dirt/mess that made its way to the carpet mostly vacuumed up. I'll need to use a wet rag to get up the rest. The rocks/minerals are nice polished stones. My son was thrilled each time he found one. There is included information on each one of them. He asked me to read him the information about each stone. He now keeps them in the included test tube display containers.
