Stick welding is the most versitile type of welding - if you can do it. Now, I am a marine engineer of the old school and when I was a cadet I had to learn how to weld. After all ships are mild steel sitting in a nice bath of corrosive liquid so you are going to have to fix pipes other steelwork as part of the job. Because of that, welding is a skill that many of us have to a reasonable extent and like many old timers of my generation we also faff around at home which keeps the knowledge up. As such I do a bit of welding but don't want to spend a fortune and these rods are great value for money for us home gamers.They are also priced so that if you want to learn how to stick weld they won't break the back either.The other thing I like is that they come in small packs so that you don't end up with a large open pack which will get damp if left around. Okay, I get that you will probably make sure that they are warm and dry before use but its nice to have most of your rods still in sealed boxes.In use they allow a nice weld with a reasoble home level welding machine. Not quite on the same level as high end Lincoln or ESAB stuff but, you arn't stumping up the wedge for them either.So, if you are into a bit of general purpose mild steel welding these are a great option.
