Brass Deflector: Brass Catcher Alternative - Scope & Pic Rail Mounts Included

Those of us that own Mini 14's soon realize a problem in regards to brass extraction from the rifle. The brass does not come out the side of the rifle but instead gets ejected from the top of the rifle. This type of design makes it quite hard to find a brass catcher/deflector that is effective. If you are set up to catch ejected brass on the side and your rifle is ejecting the brass straight up, then you are not going to catch/deflect much brass. I have tried many of those brass catcher bags. I own 3 different designs and none of them will work effectively with a Mini 14. The KET brass deflector not only works, but works every time, is light weight, and is good looking.This is one of those products that make you slap your forehead and wonder 'why isn't this item issued with all rifles'?It really is that good!Regards,Don Griffith

Easy enough to set up but it isn’t strong enough to stop brass from an AR10. It goes right past the deflector.

Good product at this price point. It works. I used it for heli-hogging and needed a more secure mount to my AR platform with a more rigid frame in the fabric. For range shooting, works well.

Bought this to use on my AR. This product is absolute junk, do not buy it. When attached to my scope, the deflector went flying off with the brass. After adjusting it, I got the deflector to stay on the rifle, but my brass still went flying and it did not work. Tried this on 2 different rifles, didn't work on either one. I also tried to use the picatinny mount, but couldn't, the scope mount was in the way. This product is an absolute waste of money.

The media could not be loaded.  Fantastic product at the right price. Works great with most set ups. Clips can be used with your hat to deflect brass.They also have a brass catcher.Must have for every shooter.Keep them in your range bag or on the firearm. Perfect gift for any shooter you know. Range officers really appreciate this product as well.

I'm giving this a 5 star as the idea is excellent, the implementation good, and it just works. Looking at all the parts I get why its a bit pricey for what you get, but its going to be hard to get a wider acceptance at the price point. Or perhaps come with a few extra plastic inserts. I can see that piece getting beat up pretty quick given the effort it takes to get it in and out.As stated, works great without having a silly bag hanging off your gun that is going to have the mesh melt from hot casings. At the bench I can put a little tray under it and it collects all my not-cheap brass for reloading. Not sure about using it standing, but I suppose it would keep your brass near your feet.

Came completely creased and not fitting the way described. Material is lightweight.

I came across this after reading an external review. My bolt gun throws brass 10 feet and the standard brass catcher I bought kept jamming my gun. First day out it worked perfectly, kept the brass in a 12” circle next to the gun. It was easy to snap on and didn’t add any weight to my gun.
