This floating umbrella blocks the sun very, very well. It provides great opaque coverage. It was easy to set up and takes up very little space on the patio, especially compared to the huge cantilever style of umbrella. It is sturdy & stable enough to leave in the pool. I filled it with small, rinsed river rocks & close the umbrella when pool time is over. The cup holders are shallow. But the shade it provides is exceptional.

My wife found this and said we needed it. I was skeptical. Read up on it and decided to purchase. Maiden voyage was yesterday with the granddaughters in the pool. This thing is GREAT! Easy to assemble and viola! tie your floating ice chest to it and you have a shaded floating bar. The cup holders as most have stated leave much to be desired. They are big, like a Yeti coffee mug big. And very shallow. Not going to keep a bottle, can, of slim seltzer can in and not tip over if it rocks. Other than that, great purchase.

Note to buyers: be sure to pick up some sand or gravel in advance. The float needs ballast in the lower part. We used some paver sand we happened to have on hand. I would imagine the very best solution would be river stones. Also, as mentioned in other reviews, these ship in two parts from differing locations. So don't be surprised when you receive the base without the umbrella or vice versa. The umbrella is nice and big. The pole gives plenty of clearance for pool users beneath. The whole assembly is surprisingly stable. As someone else observed: the cupholders are a little shallow. You may want to pick up some squat plastic tumblers to use with, as we did. 12 oz. cans in can coozies also fare well. 16-oz. cans or wine glasses would not so well. So far, the product has proven to be durable and easy to live with. We had one incident where an unexpected wind lifted the umbrella up and landed it on the pool deck but it survived with no damage. Very, very happy customers.

When I received this product I discovered that the six beverage holders are only one inch deep. For a product that is made to hold a beverage can or bottle that going to be floating on the water, there is no way a beverage could survive the smallest movement of water. The product photo shows a couple of beverage cans that appear to sit half way down the beverage holders. So, after doing some further product research, I found that they also sell suction cup holders made for the beverage table float. So, I ordered 6 suction cup beverage holders believing that I could then place my beverages in the suction cup holders. Well as it turned out, the suction cup holders do not stick to the beverage table float as the table float material is made of plastic and it is too porous for the suction cups to stick. For the life of me, I cannot understand how this company can continue to sell this product knowing that the beverage table holders and the suction cups are worthless. I sent this company an email describing the issue in the hope that they had a solution that would work so I could keep the product. Since the company has elected to ignore my inquiry and thus far failed to response to my email request for customer support, I have decided to return these products to Amazon, due to the very poorly made design, lack of response to my email and no company support.
