the paint burns of of it and looks like you cooked on it for many years after just ...
This is an outdoor camping stove, portable and does the job it is intended to do. I use the regulator for a 20 lb tank and have had no problem with it. I went to my local hardware store and bought a gas brass fitting and used Teflon tape on the threads to eliminate any leaks. We use this constantly all summer and fall long. We purchased a new one for this season because the first one took a beating with the constant use. The only issue I have is the burner grate that your pans sit on, It warps out on its shape, the paint burns of of it and looks like you cooked on it for many years after just one day of use.. It's too thin. I was hoping that Buffalo tools would make it thicker.

Grill does not come with gas regulator valve which is how you connect the gas bottle to the stove. It says this on the box but doesn't state that anywhere in the Amazon listing at the time that I am writing this. Consider the cost of the regulator and the source of an appropriate regulator when making a purchase.I have not lit this stove yet because I have not found a regulator that will meet my needs so I can not rate its ability to function as a stove. In general, the stove is marginal quality. All but one of the screws holding the burner to the housing were loose in the bottom of the box and the metal was stripped out. The green housing metal is very light weight. I replaced those screws with larger sheet metal screws which seem to be working. I will update this review when I have find a regulator and have an opportunity to light the stove.

it's a camp stove, nothing more
I bought this about six months ago for twenty bucks. I thought that was a super deal. I did have to go buy a regulator for $30 at Home Depot so the stove really cost $50. Yes, the build quality sucks. The feet won't attach because the screws are smaller than the holes on the unit. So, I don't use the feet. BUT, it works just fine. The igniter works every time. I don't have an adjustable regulator so I guess I don't have 12k BTU output but it seems to be adequate for my use. As another reviewer suggested, I may build a sturdier case with a cast iron grate and reuse the guts.

Sportsman Single Propane Burner
I purchased this burner as an emergency burner for power failures. While this burner will work in a pinch, I wouldn't call it a quality product. First off, the cast burner is very cheaply made. It is not attached to the stove very well and seems very flimsy. The ignitor rarely ignites the burner because of the placement of the electrode. The electrode should be by the gas openings, not way at the back. The main gripe I have about this burner is it does not come with a regulator. It has a 3/8" fitting on the back and you can't even hook up a small 1lb portable tank without some sort of an adaptor. Obviously you need some sort of regulator as you don't want to run full pressure from the tank. The instructions do not tell you what PSI regulator to use. Fortunately I had several different one laying around and was able to try those. The first I tried is a standard BBQ grill regulator (7" WC, approx 1/4 PSI). While this did work, the gas pressure was pretty low as was the flame. So I tried a 15 PSI regulator. This was way too much for this stove. So you probably need something in between these. I would recomend and adjustable regulator to get the proper flame size. It would have been nice if the description or intructions would have mentioned that you need to purchase a regulator as well as mentioning that the portable LPG tanks do not fit on the stove right out of the box. I'm am giving it two stars instead of one because it does function, but just not really well. I guess the old saying 'you get what you pay for' holds true for this stove.

Sportsman Series Single Burner Gas Stove
I had been searching for a near perfect propane stove to use for camping and hunting. I found this stove and bought one. I also bought the Sportsman Gas Hose Regulator with it too. The two work excellent together. Somewhere alone the description for this stove, Amazon recommends getting the Sportsman Gas Hose Regulator. This stove is lightweight and does its job well. Although the legs are laughable, the stove is cast iron and will last my life time with care. I spent about $2.00 at dollar store for the plastic leg sleeves and put them on the stove legs. They fit perfectly. Now, I have a stove with sturdy and skid resistant legs. The reason I don't give it a five star is because the air intake setting is under the stove. I have to be careful and try to set it while in operation to where the stove would provide me the perfect flow of flame. Then, I mark it and leave it at that mark. If the vent regulator moves, I can easily slide it back to that mark again for another perfect flow.

Disfunctional
When this stove arrived there was no knob or feet. Customer support was very helpful and got them sent to me quickly. I had to guess how to attach the feet, which were plastic, not non-slip rubber, and the knob was missing the spring clip, so it continually falls off. The auto-ignite did not work, so I lit it by hand. When I turned the knob to the low setting, it seemed to automatically shut down completely. Maybe that was a feature, but the stove only remained lit on the higher settings. Customer support was again very helpful, but the stove was useless.

unless you have a nice padded box for it
Slightly larger than i thought. The housing is somewhat flimsy but very light weight. The burner is heavy cast iron similar to a bayou classic style outdoor burner. Every thing worked first try: sparker and burner. The legs have to be screwed on to the bottom, a bit of a pain but no biggy. Hooked it up to regulated propane tank. This unit might not stand up to being moved around and packed and unpacked alot, unless you have a nice padded box for it.
