Looks great, but a total failure in design, safety, and practicality — not fit for consumers
Don’t get fooled by the looks — this machine might look “retro premium,” but once you use it, it’s a complete disappointment. Everything about it feels unfinished or poorly thought out. Honestly, it feels like a prototype that accidentally made it to market. • No earthing on a 2000 W appliance that uses water — absolutely unacceptable. The heating plate is metal, yet the plug has only two pins. That’s not just lazy, it’s dangerous. For reference, EU and BIS (Indian) safety standards — IEC/IS 60335 — clearly require either a 3-pin earthed plug or a double-insulated (Class II) system for all heating appliances. Even if the company tries to claim it’s “double insulated,” that excuse falls apart the moment you realize the heating plate has to be metal to conduct heat. Over time, that insulation can crack or degrade, and when it does, the plate can go live — you’ll be seconds away from being electrocuted by your own coffee machine. Expecting customers to spend ₹6,000 + and then “fix” the grounding themselves with a 3-pin plug or adapter is absurd and irresponsible. • 24-hour timer = complete joke. The moment power goes off or you unplug it — even for a second — it forgets everything like a factory reset. You have to set the clock again, reselect your brew mode (1–4 cups), and start from scratch. There’s no memory backup, no capacitor, no CMOS, nothing to retain time or settings. So if you planned an auto-brew for 9 AM, forget it — you’ll be reprogramming this thing daily. • Pathetic LCD — unreadable and embarrassing. From the front, it’s foggy and dull; you literally have to lean sideways to read the time. Honestly, even those ₹200 street kids’ watches that pretend to be G-Shocks have clearer screens. It’s almost funny — if it wasn’t so frustrating. And the worst part? This could’ve been easily fixed — if they had just tilted the LCD upward by 10–15 degrees, visibility would’ve been fine. Such a basic miss. • Misleading and confusing manual. It says “don’t leave the jug empty on the plate while in operation,” but the jug must be there for the machine to run. That’s not just bad translation — it’s poor communication that could actually make people hesitate mid-brew with hot liquid running. • Always powered on — no master switch. The machine stays live as long as it’s plugged in. For something that heats at 2000 W, that’s not comforting. A small rocker switch at the back could’ve solved this. But even if it had one, the moment you turn it off the whole thing resets again because there’s no memory backup — and that’s where the real resetting pain begins. You’ll once again find yourself staring at 12:00 AM, setting the time, selecting your brew, and repeating the same routine day after day. It’s tedious, mechanical, and genuinely irritating. So, in short, you can’t turn it off — because if you do, you lose the auto-brew function entirely. But if you keep it on (like most of us would, just for convenience), we’re back to the same problem: no earthing. Insulation doesn’t announce when it’s cracked, and it won’t warn you when it fails. Imagine a child walking by and accidentally touching the plate, or you half-awake in the morning starting your brew — it’s a disaster waiting to happen. • Minimum brew 4 cups, even if you drink alone. You can’t automate one cup. If you want a single mug, you literally have to sit in front of it and manually stop the brew when the jug hits the silver line. So much for “convenience.” • Premium price, poor experience. At this cost, you expect something reliable — not a daily ritual of resets, guessing water levels, and squinting at a foggy screen. It looks nice on the counter, but that’s about where the premium ends. Honestly, even a cheap Philips drip machine would make more sense than this nonsense. At least that one focuses on function and safety instead of pretending to be stylish. Bottom line: It may look beautiful, but it’s unsafe, impractical, and poorly engineered. This machine is not fit for the market or for consumers. Avoid it completely.

Good for large quantity.
Pros: Coffee is Amazing and its easy to use. Easy to clean. Glass caraway Quickly dispenses larger quantity. Cons: The body is plastic. U need to make minimum 4 cups of coffee at a time. So its not for regular use in case u need just a cup of morning coffee. It does automatically dispense coffee witj timer but time resets everything you switch off the machine.

Purchase and hope it does not stop working.
I had purchased the product about a year back, the digital screen is just blue and stopped working. Today the heating stopped and the entire brewing process no longer works. I am unable to get any support from Amazon or the Ariete brand. Latest update There were no service centers in my city had to ship to another city, and its been with them for pas 25 days due to parts unavailablity

Aroma and taste very good
Great aroma and taste. After a few months the heating plate is not heating properly. I have to wait half hour for the coffee to be drinkable hot The water tank is a nuisance. Cup capacity numbers inside tank. Modes are easy to understand and set up. Plastic is flimsy.

Easy to use. Nice colour. Looks fantastically retro. I don’t know what it is..z Maybe just the filter. But the coffee tastes round and great. And my fiancé got a big suprice. I can recommend almost everything from Ariete vintage.
