Medium & Large Adult Senior Sensitive Skin 7+ Dry Dog Food with Salmon 3kg

Well balanced dog food, rich in salmon and fish oil and supposedly good for the skin. My dog doesn't have any skin issues but I usually add salmon oil to my dogs food for a glossy coat. So this kills two birds with one stone. He loved it, no adverse affects on the tummy. So 2 paws up!

I know a lot of people prefer none- grain based dog foods but dogs love purina and it's very fairly priced and doesn't have a strong smell either- choose age appropriate foods and to most dogs like ours the flavour is less of an issue- we don't keep the same food always and although they can have favourites along with fresh bones it's good to have variety-

Our 13 year-old Black Labrador has an enlarged heart, chronic lung disease and dodgy hips. As a result she spends most of her time lying down and has developed patches of bare, dry skin on her elbows, which she constantly licks at. I thought this food might help. The results? Well, there may be some improvement, but I cannot be sure. The dry patches look much as they did before but she is certainly licking at them a lot less. At first she scoffed the food like she does most offerings, but, after 10 days or so, she began to lose interest and I have to put "treats" in it to get her to eat it. Even then she leaves some. The food also makes her constipated and I mix chopped carrot in to keep her regular. Overall then, I am undecided. If your dog has problem skin then it is worth a try. I won't continue with it for our dog because she just doesn't like it.

Ok, I was biased by the Spaniel on front, but this went over very well with my own Springer. She does suffer from the occasional dicky tummy, so it was a relief to be able to give her this without following her around afterwards. Recommended.

Our 9 year old boy has been looking very out of condition since a spell of ill-health and surgery. After only a week on Pro-Plan kibble, his coat looks glossy and the operation scar is less noticeable and he has stopped scratching it. The fish oils in this food really do seem to be making a big difference to his skin and coat. Even more importantly, he LOVES it.

The Great Amazon Vine Testing Beagle normally likes Purina food but she just won't touch this. I don't know if this is because of the abnormally small sized biscuits or the salmon flavour. So, only one star from me.

The best measure of dog food is how well it is accepted by your pet. We used to wonder if Whiskas cat food had some kind of magical ingredient to attract our pet cats to it, and the same applies to this Purina dog food. It is wolfed back - excuse the metaphor. We have tried various Purina formulas and all of them have this effect. Whether the product helps skin conditions, I do not know - but as a tasty and complete dog food it fits the bill, and at a fair price.
