Who doesn’t love Dove chocolate? A good value, and very tasty. A benefit of the dark chocolate ones is that they keep very, very well (better than milk chocolate), so the ones you eat last are as good as the ones you eat first! I think they make a great gift, too.

Of course these are outstanding they are Dove. I buy these every year for my son for Christmas. Outstanding quality. Always have been fresh.

WARNING! WARNING! RED ALERT! The 2-bags of Dove Promises Dark Chocolate candies are inedible! Tried a couple and it did bad things to my digestive tract. They are vile, I will say they tasted as if they are rancid but I can’t prove they are actually rancid. The chocolate had a waxy mouth feel, they didn’t really melt in your mouth. It was bitter but not a good bitter like strong coffee. It was bitter like very over extracted espresso. It finished of with a foul aftertaste. I read over the negative reviews of the product that appeared to be worse than mine. I looked at the Seller-Shipper information on the Amazon sales listing. It clearly said this was Sold by Amazon and Shipped by Amazon. That is usually a good sign. However, once it tried it I reviewed that order detail. On the receipt it said the product was provided by…wait for it…. It said, in black and white that the product was, “Provided By: Other.” No name of a legitimate company but the “Other”…company? To be clear, I WOULD NEVER HAVE ORDERED THESE CHOCOLATES IF THE LISTING HAD BEEN TRUTHFUL! Before I ordered, I checked the Dove Candy website. Dove Candies is actually part of Mars, the maker of the Snickers Bar. The Dove site indicated that Amazon is an authorized retailer so I thought it would be OK. I am a self described Dove Dark Chocolate aficionado. You see, I have been in the process of losing over 100 pound of weight to date. One of the small indulgences my Doctor allows is I can eat 6 pieces per day of good dark chocolate candy. I love chocolate! My Doctor specifically said, “Like Dove Dark Chocolate.” So I can indulge without guilt because it’s in the plan. That means I have consumed around 2160 Dove Dark Chocolate over 12 months! I’ve been nearly 18 months, so it tallies up to 2880 of those delectable little squares of heavenly goodness. I know what they taste like and how it melts in a person’s mouth turning into Perfection. I CAN NOTICE EVER DETAIL OF THE DOVE CHOCOLATE EXPERIENCE. The stuff delivered to my home was…NOT good. I don’t take anything from anyone. I wrote to Dove-Mars to tell them their brand was being sullied buy some entity called…OTHER. They were very interested and wanted a detailed description of buying and consuming the stuff I got. They told me they could not refund money but they are sending vouchers so I can replace the bad with teal Dove Dark Chocolate. They urged me to take this story to Amazon. Amazon said they would provide refund and wanted all the documentation I put together for Dove-Mars. The agreed to refund my purchase and the will provide the shipping back to Amazon. The point being, I urge everyone to stand up for yourself. Don’t accept bad service and treatment from a company. In my eyes, I see this as fraudulent business practice by some entity identified as OTHER. I may take some effort but not a great amount. I had everything in hand except my write up.

Nicely wrapped unlike the milk chocolate Promises. The dark chocolate will make a nice presentation for a little Thank you treat to the cafeteria staff at one of our local schools. I would have given them 5 stars except for the fact that they weren’t quite as creamy as previous bags. They were also a great price!
