A few things to know about this product.First, the tube is tiny, wich is good for me as it fits well in my travel case.Second, as indicated on the manufacturer site and on the product itself (in Korean), bakuchiol concentration is 1%, not 5% (which the product name on Amazon wrongly states at the time of this writing).Finally, you can feel a very very mild stinging from the spicules, as expected. Compared to the famous VT Reedle Shot 100, it stings less. It seems that the VT 100 is 10,000ppm while this is only 4,000ppm. Looking at scientific research, one paper to show good effectiveness of spicules on acne used 30,000ppm (3%) once a day. The papers looking at spicules to increase absorption of other molecules do not indicate concentration but instead the total amount of spicules per cm2 of skin, at between 1mg/cm2 and 5mg/cm2 for effectiveness. At 4,000ppm, one mL of this cream should give us 4mg of spicules, which is pretty low.If you can stand the stinging, the other version of the product (spicule max) has 20,000ppm of spicules, which is more in line with the quantities used in research.

And then I did some research too.So this is a spicule cream, a spicule is a needle like object that can be composed of many things, in Korean beauty products it’s usually marine particles.These little spikey particles act as exfoliants.I did read that it may irritate sensitive skin, I can say the first time I used it I did feel like it stung as rubbed it all over my face quickly. I just recently started using it regularly and now I pat it into the skin, I’m really hoping for some good results. It isn’t a huge tube though so I may need to buy another one if I see it starts working before it runs out. If i don’t see results in the time it takes to get through the small tube I probably won’t repurchase though.

I’m addicted to this cream. Does everything it says it does. Definitely improves skin texture and helps make skin taut. Love that it goes on matte

After four attempts of using this cream on my facial skin, I finally stopped.While I have combination skin on my face, it's not sensitive. But every time I've tried to use this cream, I've felt extreme discomfort.I've since researched spicules, and how they potentially impact skin.I'm going to continue researching this product, and I hopefully will recontinue using it - as it appears very promising,

I’ve never felt anything like this before. But I was very excited to try this out and so I used it the first day I got it which was yesterday, and I am completely disturbed by what I experienced as I’ve never experienced anything like it.First, you should know that I do not have sensitive skin and I’ve only had a reaction to anything put on my skin maybe a couple times in my life.The instant I started rubbing this onto my face, it was legitimately painful because it felt like I was rubbing something that had tiny minuscule pieces of broken glass in it. And as I rubbed it, it felt like I was being cut.And it’s not like my entire face felt like that, it only felt like that in like 20 different spots. There was no burning sensation and There was no rash. It really genuinely felt like in random places all over my face that There were tiny splinters of glass being Pushed into my skin.It was absolutely awful and Massively disturbing.I have no idea what is in this product that would cause such a sensation or if there is Something wrong with the making of this particular tube or particular batch that was made.As I left it on my face, it stung in those spots for a little while, and then stopped, however, my face was red all over and any time I touched my face or tried to rub it again. I would get the same sensation in those spots all over again.This makes me think that there is definitely something wrong with this product and I would seriously warn against purchasing this. Because it could be completely dangerous.Because I can’t imagine a product purposely having ingredients in it that feel like this and I use chemical Exfoliants as well as prescription strength retinols So I know what skin discomfort feels like with products that do have a little burn to them or do feel a little tingly. But for this to cause actual intense pain as severe as it did? I can’t imagine that’s meant to be The normal performance of this product.I certainly don’t feel safe using this again.I don’t recommend that you take a chance in purchasing this product, especially when this stuff isn’t regulated by the FDA so you actually have no idea what you’re getting.I sincerely hope this review is helpful because this stuff really scared me and I’ve never had that happen.

This bakuchiol night cream has definitely improved the overall appearance of my skin with consistent use. I apply it onto freshly washed skin, thoroughly rubbing it in prior to applying my nightly serums. I started off using it 1 time a week but gradually worked up to using it 3-4 times a week. My skin is considerably more hydrated, brighter, youthful, plump and my pores are less visible. I have pretty sensitive skin and didn't have any issues with this, however I was careful about acclimating my skin to this new product.
