I wish I had taken before and after photos! The inside of my Dad's water distiller was covered in hard water scale. He never realized he needed to clean the distiller! He assumed that since the water boils and evalporates into the pitcher, that the water is clean. (Maybe it is?) But, I was shocked to see how much gunk comes out of our city water! I couldn't stand to look at it and think of him drinking water that came from this scaly pot! I bought this brand because it had good reviews overall and was affordable enough that if it didn't work, I wouldn't be out too much. I also liked that it was natural, so no leftover chemical residue to worry about. I wasn't sure how much to use since I saw some instructions online about how to clean a water distiller and it said to fill the water to above the scale. The scale in his pot was all the way to the top. So I poured half a bottle of the citric acid into the pot and filled it with hot water from the tap all the way to the top. It started fizzing right away. We let it sit for about an hour or so. I came back and poured out light brown water, and chunks of scale. About half of the scum was already removed, the rest I wiped out easily with a wet cloth. It was amazing! The pot was super clean! I highly recommend this product and want to try it to clean other things!

This is great for cleaning coffee makers, urns, electric tea pots, and dishwashers. Don't waste your money on brand name, specific cleaners. Read the label, this is the key ingredient.

I love always having safe water for my house plants. It's quiet and very easy to clean and operate. However, I had trouble with it spilling water by not sending it all although the metal piece that is to go on the container, even though I made sure that it was lined up when in use. I solved the problem by leaving the container open so the water would drip into it with plenty of space.

Two teaspoons is all it takes to get the job down ne in 30 minutes.

This is how I clean my distiller. 2 teaspoons in 1 liter of hot water. Run your distiller fir about 20 minutes. Rinse and scrub a little and your distiller is ready for the next batch.

I use this product to clean my distiller. It works wonderfully. I use 2 scoops. This product will last me for a while. It is a great value for low price
