For neck or even upper back pain - this was great to use on airplanes. My girlfriend suffers from occasional neck pain and flights are brutal for her but with this - she tolerated 2 hour flights without difficulty. Battery lasted entire flight which was not expected.

So funny story.. I bought one of these for my wife for Christmas. Purchased it in early November. Rating were good, my wife gets a lot of tension in her neck and shoulders. I've bought her other neck massager but she didn't like them, they had those hard ball things they rolled and she said it hurt her, so I stopped buying them. Then I seen this one, it was more of a pulsing massager, vibrating etc, and had heat mode, so I decided to give it a try and get it for her.. Soooo the first week of December, I slept wrong or something and my neck was tweeked, it hurt everytime I turned my head. My chiropractor was gone on vacation so I had to deal with it.... Or DID I LOL.. I decided I would open the gift I bought my wife and test it myself LOL figured if I didn't like it or it was to aggressive where I know she wouldn't like it, then I'd keep it and get her something else. Well let me tell you, this is a very nice massager. It has multible settings, and has setting or functions you can download through the app that syncs to the massager when you turn it on. You don't have to download the app to use it, but it's nicer and easier to switch between modes using the app. There is a voice assistant that tells you the mode and intensity you using. You can control everything to make is customized to your liking. And the heat function is instant so waiting. You can set timer from 5 min to 30 minutes. So this worked so well, and took care of my neck pain, I took it to my chiropractor when he returned and told him about it, he really liked it as well, and bought one for his daughter for Christmas, and YES I bought another one for my wife for Christmas lol and she loves it... so highly recommend

I do have to admit this this works well with the back of your neck or your upper neck area. I'n my case I needed it to work between my shoulder blades and it did not reach the area I needed it too.The heat works really well and you have to be careful with the intensity settings as it's also a Tens unit. If you crank up the intensity to max you will feel like you have a Tens unit on full strength.This massager combines vibration/heat and a Tens unit as one. There are preset settings you can use and the joystick type controller on the side of the unit allows you to adjust settings based on your needs.I'n my situation a Tens unit makes my issues worse so this did not help me much. But for some people having a Tens unit with vibrations may help with pain relief.I give it a solid 4 stars based on design and function. This is a great quality unit but it did not work for what I needed it to do.

I'm giving it one star because it did charge and turn on. This is my second purchase within 10 days. My therapist has one and his works, so I'm going to give this 3 tries. The 1st massager didn't hold a charge. Once it was turned on, used or not, if it was turned off, it needed to be charged before it would turn on again. The 2nd is defective, the pulse feature doesn't work. It doesn't pulse. I'm going to give it one more try. I'll report if the 3rd one functions correctly!

I retuned this item. It did not hit the spot that I needed it to hit. But it did work as stated.
