Chemical Demonstrations : A Handbook for Teachers of Chemistry Vol 1 (Volume 1)

This series should be part of every Chemistry teacher's arsenal of teaching materials. Great demos to interest and challenge all level chem students.

If one looks for books with fine chemical experiments, this series of books is a great choice. Exactly enough theory to explain the nice experiments. A cheap but well equipped home laboratory, not an expensive professional one, gives you and your children (in my case grandchildren) the opportunity to be impressed and to learn a lot.The level is just fine for people with (nearly) a bachelor degree (e.g. chemistry, but also physics or biology or math). The only disadvantage is that there are five books - together a lot of money - but at the other hand: such a huge amount of fine demonstrations.

Ive bought chemical demonstration books before but this is by far the best! It gives great explanation of the concepts as well as clear description of the chemicals and equipment needed. I would like to buy the other volumes since each one addresses a different topic. Highly recommended for high school and AP chemistry.

Great book for chemistry instructors. I really appreciate the safety and clean up section for each demo.

Some of the demos must be done under a fine hood. It hard for a class of 36 to see

Use this for my AP chem class demos.. Well done. Well organized series. Highly recommend this series.

This is an excellent book for those who wish to carry out chemical demonstrations to those young people studying chemistry or those interested in the topic.All the experiments are well thought out with safety and disposal information it is very slightly dated as some of the chemicals are not as easy to find now as at the time this book was written. It should be an essential item for those who intend to teach chemistry to those between 8 and 18.

Die Wurzeln des inzwischen fünfbändigen Werks liegen nun wohl schon knappe 30 Jahre zurück (Copyright 1983), aber natürlich wird druckfrisch geliefert, und inhaltlich sind Bücher dieser Art sowieso zeitlos. Für jeden Chemie-Vorführer ein absolutes MUSS.Der hier vorliegende erste Band ist sicher der spannenste, handelt er doch die ganzen Versuche mit viel Feuer und Geräuschen ab.
