Soldiers of Love by Derailers

3年振りの待ちに待った新作。渋いヴォーカルを聴かせてくれていた　Tony Villanueva が脱退したのは残念だが、大幅なメンバーチェンジをし、新生 Derailers が誕生した。ヴォーカル＆ギターの　Brian Hofeldt の個性が突出。ロカビリー、ロックンロールに、リバプールやベイカーズフィールドサウンドなどの　'60s　エッセンスを散りばめ、かなり乗りのよい　カントリー・サウンドが抜群です。テーマソングのような、オープニングナンバーなど、Brian のコンポーザーとしての魅力も倍増。惜しくも亡くなられた、Johnny Cash　や、Buck Owens　に捧げられたナンバーでは「敬愛」溢れる　完全コピーが、泣かせてくれる。本アルバムもそうだが、テキサスの良質カントリーを届けてくれる「PALO DURO RECORDS」には今後も注目したい。

I'm always amazed at the way these guys stay true to their music. You will not find music that is "Nashville savy" for the sake sending one to the charts. They are genuine artists. This album again reflects their dedication to the cause and craft. There are definitely cuts that are worthy of commercial FM play : "The one B4 Me, She's a lot like TX,and Every time it rains" Don't hold your breath though. You can still find them on satelite and digital radio. Worthy of your $ and time.

these songs and singers are the greatest,I never heard of them but everyone should get a chance to hear their music.

I am a big fan of the Derailers and have been for a long time. This CD is ok but their older recordings are better in my opinion. They have had changes over the years and I don't believe their music is the same. I heard that they lost their lead singer a while back.

Can't go wrong with the DRs - my wife is not all that crazy about music and she LOVES the DRs. Come on back to the Zoo!

Can't put my finger on it but this is not what I've come to expect from this great band. It's boring and it's far short of their previous recors.
