The Plantpower Way: Italia: Delicious Vegan Recipes from the Italian Countryside: A Cookbook Review: Stunning photography, amazing plant based recipes- wonderful book that I will use again and again! - Could not wait for this book to come out - I own their previous two cookbooks but was very intrigued by this as though I do like Italian food; it’s something I rarely eat as it tends to be heavier, more carb fare which does not make me feel great - but a lighter plant based version- why heck yes ! Now going to rip the bandaid off at the beginning and tell you that all their cookbooks require a really good high speed blender and a dehydrator. You can get by without these - or at least the dehydrator, but there are several recipes you will have to skip - that said this book centers around common easy ingredients that are easy to find which is fantastic. The book is divided into 7 chapters : Blends and breakfast ; Sauces, spreads and cheeses; Pizza, Antipasti and Contorni; Pasta and Primo ; Salads and soups and finally desserts. I started out simple in giving some of these recipes a try : A version of chia pudding, as it in various forms, is a breakfast go to for me. The ingredients did not scream Italian - cardamom and coconut seem more Indian to me, but it was very delicious and simple to whip up - and its a great boost of energy to start the day. I made some of the cheeses ready for the weekend - again I started simple though I cannot wait to try the Burrata recipe as I love that cheese but am very curious to try the dairy free version - the Parmesans with cashew and walnut were easy to whip up with on hand ingredients as I always have nutritional yeast in that pantry . Other than overnight soaking of nuts , they take mere minutes to make and are a great addition to many of the recipes. There are a bunch of great looking pizzas all made with a simple cauliflower crust but my favorite section was the antipasti as I love little dishes like this and already made the blackened balsamic cauliflower, largely because I needed to use my cauliflower and also because again it was so simple which is something I look for in most recipes. There are lots of lovely and creative dishes that can be used as sides or whipped up together for a simple weekend meal. The only thing I guess I did not care for was some of the recipes looked amazing like the truffle cashew Alfredo but then were paired with a store bought packet of fettuccine noodles ; but I think a trip to Trader Joe’s will help as they have things like cauliflower gnocchi that I can use to lighten it up. The sauces however look amazing !! I just wish there was an idea of something else you could use in lieu of store bought pasta The book has amazing salads and soups but save room for dessert as that section is amazing and I have to make the caramel brûlée with just 6 ingredients and dairy free to boot. They take all your traditional Italian desserts and make them plant based - delicious but healthier! The book is beautiful and could honestly serve as a coffee table book as much as a cookbook . It has stunning photography, incorporates great stories within the pages and has so many incredible recipes!! What a great book! Review: Amazing Recipes, Simple To Understand, Italian Plant Based Decadence! Beautiful! - A beautifully crafted work of art. The images transport you to an idillic Italian countryside welcoming you to enjoy the scenery and eat delicious authentic Italian cuisine. The incredible thing is the recipes are plant based versions of your favorites. From breakfast to desert you are tantalized by the amazing photographs, meal descriptions and easy to follow directions. The surprising introduction of a "seafood" like ingredient using the earths most amazing treasure, the mushroom, will leave you wondering is this really plant based. Sprinkled throughout this gorgeous book are insights into Julie and Rich's life and the community they have built. It leaves you wishing you could pull up a chair, sip an espresso and enjoy one of these decadent creations. Preferably the Lobster Mushroom Risotto, Escarole Salad and the Caramel Brûlée. Amore!

On many levels The Plantpower Way : Italia will add beauty and enhance your life.
I am so excited for the release of this book. It is a remarkable follow to The Plant Power Way which has graced the table and kitchen of my home now for many months. The Plant Power Way : Italia is much more than a cook book. It is art in it's finest form and celebration of life, friendships, nature, family and ultimately love. This inspirational book carries clear intention and energy to transform our planet into a better world. Julie Piatt and Rich Roll have an immense capacity to share their vision of peace, equality and let's not forget doing so while having so much fun. I cannot wait to try these recipes; in the meanwhile the book is center piece of our coffee table, where you can relax and enjoy the many gorgeous photos and high vibrational short articles on yoga, lifestyle and community. I highly recommend. On many levels The Plantpower Way : Italia will add beauty and enhance your life.

The BEST Italian Vegan Cookbook on the market! DIVINE!
Another beautiful cookbook from Julie Piatt and Rich Roll. I love EVERYTHING about this cookbook and I cannot wait to work my way through every recipe. The entire book is a work of art and is written beautifully. It's a glimpse into the duo's Italian retreats and features so many divine culinary creations. Julie is truly a genius vegan chef. Everything from smoothies, plant-based cheese, pizza, pasta, salad, and insane desserts, you will not be disappointed. In fact just flipping through the pages has me wanting to go cook up a feast and book my next trip to Italy all at once. Bellissima!

If you love pasta and are a vegan this is the book for you
Like all of the Plantpower Way stuff this book is beautiful. It’s oversized with extravagant photography. It’s as much about promoting a plant based life style as it is about providing specific recipe. I found the 1st Plantpowered book more helpful for menu planning and health considerations. The recipes can be elaborate.

A great value... easy to follow recipes
Thank you for writing, compiling this beautiful book. I just received my copy and am very excited to dive in. I'm still transitioning in my vegan diet and this book makes it feel all the more attainable. Beautiful photos, simple recipes, combine to give you the sense of ease. I can't wait to try the cheeses, almond milk, coconut yogurt and everything else. And, there is a lot here. The recent Rich Roll podcast with featuring his wife Julia was what sold me. That episode made me feel the true value of the book. Thanks for all your hard work.

Amazing book! And there's recipes! easy healthy recipes
Amazing book! And there's recipes! I know that sounds crazy but this is a beautiful book that feels great in your hands (textured cover), beautiful photos, and as a bonus the recipes look easy to make and delicious. The book arrived today and our first dish was tried for lunch "Beluga Lentil Caviar with cashew sea cheese". Only 5 steps to make it, extremely easy and it was delicious. PS: You don't actually need caviar to make it.

This is one of the best cook book I have purchased. We have tried a lot of the recipes and they are so tasty and they don’t use too many ingredients, which is great for an amateur like me! The measurments are in American metric but there is a handy page which converts this to the English measurements! The book is presented beautifully, and is also a lifestyle book which recommendations if breathing and practising yoga. Highly recommend for someone who is just starting out on a plant based diet!

I saw this book on amazon for $11.88 and thought what do I have to lose, Rich Roll is a sure bet. More appropriately, so much to gain!! This cookbook is absolutely stunning, simplistic and the recipes...., so many pastas, pizzas and risottos. Some of the recipes may require a little extra step or two (to make the vegan cheeses), but oh so worth it. The is a must own for any vegan kitchen.
