This is a great, soft fabric cap with the perfect sized pockets of gel, which I keep in the refrigerator. Keeping it in the refrigerator is much more comfortable and plenty cool, without having to use a towel as when put in the freezer. Also, by keeping it in the freezer the gel pockets are flat or misshapened, not head contoured, thus you must let it thaw a while. I have debilitating chronic migraines and cannot go through all those steps. I need to walk to the fridge with eyes half closed, open the fridge, put the cap on and make it back to bed. Only change I've made to it, is to place the cap opposite of the directions. I place the Velcro adjustable closure at my forehead, so the middle gel pack is at the lower back of my head/neck, thus giving coolness there also. It's very comfortable lying down on, instead of having the 2 pieces of Velcro sticking in the back of my head. The other gel packets fit perfectly over my temples. It's also very light, not tight (being adjustable) and brings great relief sitting, reclining or lying down. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CAP, IN FACT, I bought two because while being a great cap, the coolness only lasts about 20 minutes and I can have another ready if I need or want another right away.

I often suffer strong headaches that won't go away without migraine pills and ice wrapped in a bandana and placed on my forehead. It's miserable. I just got my Foami and already love it. The ice packs give the relief on the forehead and also make a ring around 3/4 of my head. It's instant relief. The gel pads are thinnish, so the cooling lasts about 30 minutes or so -- should be enough to relieve the pain.2 things to note: 1) the hat. runs slightly on the large size and 2) I recommend that you place the entire thing in the freezer. Don't take the pads out of the hat because it's a thin, stretchy material that will probably rip with constant removals.I definitely recommend it!

I love this. It's not exactly what I was looking for, but it's really good. First, there's no ice packs on the top of the head, but the ice packs around the head seem to do the trick. Second, the ice packs don't go all the way around. The space where there is velcro has no ice pack. You can place this in the back or in the front, depending on where you need the ice the most. I can use this and actually get out of bed and get things done. Unfortunately, when I get migraines and headaches, they are with me all day, and the one I bought generally lasts about an hour. I just came on here to buy a second and I'm hoping that will be enough to swap out so that I can have constant relief. If I need to buy a third, I will, though I'm hoping two will be enough. Four stars for the increase in the quality of life (thank you so very, very much). Fifth star would be if it lasted more than an hour and/or if the ice packs circled all the way around. Still quite grateful. PS- the little ice packs will fall out if you hold the hat upside down. At first I was annoyed that they weren't sewn in, but then I realized- how would you wash it if you couldn't take them out?

Based on my mom's expression when she opened this gift, I may have gone a little overboard buying her everything she might need for comfort during chemotherapy. I had read that some people get really hot during treatment and also read that keeping the head cool may help hair regrowth. This hat looked like a good solution to help keep her and her head cool, it does not look too cool on though. She felt silly looking with it on. It was a little big on her. She accepted it though and tucked it away in a zip lock bag placed in the door of her fridge sure to never be looked at again. Fast forward a few weeks, mom wasn't feeling well. She was hot and had a bad headache that just wouldn't go away. Then she remembered the hat in the fridge and thought she'd give it a try. The hat placed gentle pressure in all the right spots and cooled her down wonderfully. It worked so well that she doesn't care what it looks like on.

This stays very cold, almost too cold, and for myself it is too big to stay in place how I need it on my head following a major brain surgery I just had. Thankfully the ice packs don't feel as hard and heavy as others I've tried, but still it is very hard to keep it in place so the ice packs stay where my nurse or doctor tells me to make sure I place it. I know it will come in very handy this summer for my boys when they are outside in the long hot days playing sports or fishing!

I bought this for my husband who sustained a concussion and now is diagnosed with Post concussion syndrome. He swears by this product as it allows him to fall asleep in comfort not needing to worry about ice packs falling off his head. The coolness relieves his whole head, though the gel packs only fit around the "brim." Our only disappointment is that extra gel packs are not offered or sold separately so that he could rotate them. Overall, extremely satisfied. Don't wait for the headaches to go away on their own when this durable, reusable, effective product can offer immediate relief.

I use this for my Occipital Neuralgia pain. The light material & adjustability of the hat are perfect. The gel stays cold about 20 minutes and provides me really good pain relief. The packs need to be molded/squished a bit to contour to your head.Downsides: 1) both my gel packs began leaking after about 45 days routine use (I use just one gel pack at a time), so I’m on hat #2; 2) no option to buy just the gel packsI don’t need the ice coverage some of the bigger migraine caps provide & my ON pain is bad enough that repeat purchase of this product, while not ideal, works for me.
