Love it!

I've had similar dried squid from my local market and this was just a bit too chewy. You couldn't even really bite into it. It did have a great flavor though.

This dish is very salty and very sour. They put a lot of salt and vinegar. I tried to eat it but I couldn't swallow it and I threw it up so I had to throw it in the trash.

I enjoy trying new foods. Sometimes they are a miss but sometimes I find my next favorite food. I wasn’t sure what to expect with this squid jerky but I expected smoky, savory, and very chewy based on other types of jerky I’ve tried in the past. This is quite different than most other jerky I’ve tried. It’s slightly smoky but I’d say the smoke is most evident as a lasting aftertaste (I mean that in a good way). It is sweeter than I expected and a bit fishy. While I wouldn’t say it taste exactly like it, if you’ve had eel sushi before, the sweet, fishy flavor of this is a bit similar IMO. There is also a tangy vinegary note. It’s a flavor combination that is unusual in my diet and one I really enjoy. It’s softer in texture than I expected as well. It’s chewy but not tough like leather. I like the texture of this. This jerky comes in a resealable ziplock style bag. The best by date is over a year out. There isn’t anything I don’t like about this product. I will say my wife, who is a much less adventurous eater, did not care for this. As with many fish products, I can see this being a bit polarizing. You’ll probably either really like it or be turned off after a bite or two. Overall, if you are an adventurous eater this is something you should try. It may be your next favorite snack.

My daughter loves jerky of all kinds. She loves munching on fish jerky and we thought she would like this one too. She said the flavor was good but it was a little bit chewy. She had some trouble biting off all the pieces and chewing through them. We cut them up into bit size pieces and that did the trick for her. However, I would prefer to not do that. It's good but needs some tweaking

I had a feeling this Swashbuckle Snacks Smoked Squid Jerky would be fishy, but I wasn't prepared for how extremely fishy this was. When I first opened the bag and the smell hit me hard, it was like walking into the fish market. I wasn't even sure I was going to be able to it eat so I had to wait to get past the smell. There is a plastic tray inside the bag that seems pointless and wasteful because it doesn't hold the jerky in place, all of the jerky just dumps down to the bottom of the bag and then there's this plastic tray in the way. I did end up trying some and it has the chewy consistency that you'd expect with jerky. The texture and consistency were fine. It also has a very strong fishy flavor paired with a smokey taste and also a bit of sweetness. I chewed up one piece and I didn't want any more after that. I didn't completely hate it, but I didn't love it either. I'm honestly not sure I even like it all that much and I actually do normally like squid just fine. I think the chewy jerky texture is appealing because I love jerky but that fishy flavor gets to be way too much very quickly. For me, this is not a snack I would get again. If you are okay with the strong fishy smell/taste, then you will probably really enjoy this because it's spot on as far as jerky goes.

I've had a couple dry-puffed snacks from this brand before and had high hopes for this squid jerky. It did not disappoint! I have had dried squid before, so I had a good idea of what to expect; a strong squiddy/fishy smell and tougher texture, but after some chewing it becomes quite malleable and releases a rich and lovely flavor. Overall, a really good, delicious non-traditional jerky experience. Would definitely buy again!

These are a little bit weird-tasting and strangely sweet, but overall, pleasant. They do have a fishy taste. The texture is not too tough, but they are quite chewy.
