Yes it works great on my 20 long custom fish tank hood. Used two strips of this and two strips of bright white. With in two days I saw a big difference in my plants.. Yes it can be cut every three lights. It's marked. I soldered me wires, but they sell slip on terminals for those not handy with a soldering gun. This product is nice and bright and very manageable . It is what it is. a ribbon not a rope. I can't speak on dimmer able. I just use a on off timer... Those inquiring about heat... Very very little... Water Proof?? Haven't had any problems with water bubbling and splashing on my strips. I wouldn't try submerging them.Just ordered a second set for my other tank just to grow plants. Tom K.

I got these to wrap around a chaeto reactor. Greatly increase the rate of growth. Wasn’t very clear, but this comes with 3m tape along the back of the whole roll, as well as with clips that I used to adhere it to the reactor facing the light inside the chamber. Obviously the way I used the lights, the tape on the back didn’t really come in use, but for other applications it would be perfect that it comes that way. The clips that come with it did not hold really well at first so I had to tape the ends to help hold the lights in place. Only other downside is that the power supply has a short cord, maybe a foot long.

Material Quality:These lights do produce a little warmth (not enough to be used as the sole heat source though) and the thickness feels very sturdy & hardy for LEDs. The adhesion is not very good. The tape is double-sided and at first, peeled completely away from the LED strip. Not a hard fix though, just make sure the paper backing hasn’t pulled off the tape from the lights. (You’ll be able to tell & fix it right away.)(Material Quality Update 1/20/2021.) It started to fall off and had to be connected by another method. In my case, I used extra wire to tie it around the PVC pipe.Grow Light Quality: As far as grow lights go these things are amazing! We made them adjustable by attaching them to two PVC pipes and hanging them 2-4 inches above our seedlings and just in one day they’ve made an incredible improvement in our plants. Before this, I was just using a single LED grow light bulb and my plants were leggy trying to reach for the light. I absolutely recommend them for starting seeds indoors! (In the second picture the leggy kale in the back right didn’t start out with these lights while the ones in front of them did! The result was a straight, darker green stem instead of a long, noodly translucent color.)

Some other reviewers mentioned the adhesive not sticking. I didn't think it would be that big of a deal, but it is. These didn't stick for more than a few minutes. I even used the brackets for extra hold and they still fall down. I have another strip of lights that have stuck for over a year. The verdict is still out on how my plants like the lights, but I wouldn't buy these again.

High-quality LED grow light. Perfect for a Chaeto reactor. Be careful with handling these though, they were designed to be cut to the length needed.

First of all, before purchasing these know that the adhesive backing does not work. Just pretend it isn't even there because it will fall off repeatedly. Other than that my lights are working well during the first week of use. My plants are happy and reaching for them. Fingers crossed they work well long term, but if not they're cheap enough that I can just buy more.

Out of three of these two already stopped working after the second time I turned them on...and they have no timer or even a switch to turn off an on.

Got this to replace an older light system I use to start tomato seedlings . Unfortunately the light this produces is not working for the tomatoes. Leaves are turning yellow once the plants reach .5 ft and then plants wither and die.I will be looking for something else for tomatoes.
