How easy is it to release the rat, when opening the door does your hand need to go near the rat?

I have released 3 rats from this trap into woods not too nearby. The rats have been so keen to get away that they weren't bothered with me. But it's important to point the t rap away from you and maybe put your foot on it to stabilise it. Your fingers do go quite near but if worried wear a pair of gardening gloves. My only disappointment is that I have not received even a postcard from them...ungrateful when you think of the alternative remedy meted out by some of my neighbours! Be brave, they're gone in a second and if not use your foot to tip the trap up.
