If my pillow covers are 20x20, should I get the same size pillow insert or 18x18 pillows?

For a nice plump pillow filled from corner to corner we recommend purchasing one size up. So if your pillow covers are 20 x 20 you must purchase 22 x 22 pillow inserts. If you'd like a more natural looking pillow you can go with 20 x 20 pillow inserts. Thank you

I’m trying to understand why it need a 20x20 insert if my cover is 18x18?

the 20x20 compressing down to completely fill the 18x18 pillow cover; if you buy a smaller insert your pillow will be much flatter and the edges will not be fully puffed up. this is a very good product.
