tickled!!!!
I have used henna for 15 years so I knew what to expect in purchasing this product. If you haven't used henna, please search the internet for information!!!! This may NOT be a product you want to use. This is not like the boxes of chemical dye in your local store. It will NOT lighten your hair and turn it to a different color. It WILL change lighter colors to darker colors, it WILL cover gray if you let it develop long enough on your head. You will NOT know how the color shade is when you rinse your hair. That will come in two days. But you WILL get a natural looking color that is full of highlights and lowlights instead of a flat shade like box dye. Just don't expect it to do something it doesn't have the power to do, and then come back and blame the product. That said, I hadn't used this brand until now. I was always pure henna and red, but have aged enough I wanted something more subtle. I chose the blond to color the grays and deepen my fading natural color, helping it to blend in with what I already have. I am so pleased! I washed my hair with clarifying shampoo, then I mixed the package. I froze half, since I was only wanting do my roots I didn't need it all. I let it stand about an hour in a warm spot then applied and left on for 3 hours. I didn't get full coverage of my grays. I honestly didn't expect to. What I did get was a lovely lovely variety of various shades of blond with a few sparkling gray blingy highlights. So natural looking no one will ever know I colored my hair. I suspect next time I use it, leaving it on longer would fully color those grays IF I want them hidden. I couldn't be happier with the product! Will continue using on my roots.

As promised…Sunshine on a wintry day
Decided to blond the grays naturally. Have used red henna in the past, so familiar with the process. Did test strip before, and loved the blondish color. Followed the directions, and it turned out as promised.

Works, but takes patience and upkeep
This does work, but it’s a bit of a pain to apply. You have to leave it on for quite a while, and it definitely requires patience. The color itself comes through, but I did notice that with repeated use, beard hair can start to turn a bit purple over time. Because of that, it needs to be used consistently and carefully to maintain the right look. It works, but it’s not low maintenance and takes some trial and error.

It doesn't work!
Unfortunately, this didn’t cover my gray hairs. This was my second attempt, applied about a month after the first, and I left it on for over 3 hours each time. It only left a light reddish tint. If you’re hoping for full gray coverage, this product might not meet your expectations.

Great deal for most (probably/maybe?), just not so much if you need to take anti-indigo measures.
The only reason I took off a star is because of the paragraph below. If you don't have the same issue, it's probably just as good as the other henna powders, just a third less. (Like Suave--remember those ads? Suave does what theirs does, at half the price ... then it went to a third less--not sure where it ended up.) If your beard takes the darker brown henna and you get the indigo/blue/purple tones (particularly in sunlight, but also some indoor lighting). The 1st time you use henna (on your beard, at least), make sure to give yourself a long weekend--you may need 3, maybe 4 days/coats before it takes. For me it showed a bit on my 2nd coat, then looked pretty good after the 3rd. Also, this doesn't have to be as hard as the henna kids seem to want to make it--Saran wrapping your face and such isn't necessary, neither is using a quarter or a half a pouch unless you have a pretty long beard. My beard is trimmed to a #3 clipper guide every week or so, and I use about a heaping tablespoon of color and a ¼tsp of pure henna. Then I mix in the same amount of hot water (just hot tap) and let it sit. When I get back to it after an hour or so (overnight works, but you get a bit lighter shade if you wait that long) I add a tsp of hot water (you'll need a bit more the longer you wait), then add a bit more (¼tsp to a brush handleful) as needed. To minimize the bluebeard schtick, add a little pure henna, and when you add the hot water/mix the initial thick paste, let it sit for an hour or so before you add the rest of the water to make it the right consistency (nearly but not quite runny enough to drip). This henna doesn't respond to that measure so much--at least not for me/my beard. Apply the paste as directed--apply the paste under/at all angles, maybe a 16th of an inch above the top edge of your beard/moustache, so the paste is thickish over the whole thing (the skin stain wears off over night). I watch a 45 minute or so show, or read some of whichever book(s) I'm reading ... whatever, then shower if off. So it works a lot like the Other Guys' facemelt stuff (the OGs' brushes and plastic trays work nicely for henna), you just spread the process out. I also think the natural oils that coat your beard if you don't wash it the day you use henna helps to keep it moist while the paste is doing its thing--seems like it darkens the shade just a bit, too, but not much--don't go a whole shade lighter to try and compensate ... although the chemistry between individuals will vary somewhat. A lot of people apparently don't get the bluebeard result, and don't need to take any anti-indigo measures, for example.
