I have an old school mandolineand have used it for years. However, I've always feared loosing a fingertip or two. No more fear!!! Additionally my old mandoline also had several inserts for julienning. No more - These blades are built-in and easy to put into use.I have used it for making a mirepoix in just minutes. Quckly slicing potatoes and onions for a potatoes au gratin! It's so fast and fun. Seems to also be vrey sturdy. My only wish is that it had bigger opening for the deliver chute and receptical for the output.If a bigger version comes out, I'm sure I'll be lining up to buy it.

This makes vegetable prep a breeze. The chute is a bit small and the upright design makes it’s difficult to get vegetables oriented for the prettiest cuts, but the convenience and compact size make up for that. For daily meals, slicing onions is so quick and it’s dishwasher safe.

I threw away the other type of slicing machine. You know the ones that have the basket and you change the blades out. This Works so much more superior! Easy to set up various settings to cut your vegetables or cheese works very efficiently. Great kitchen tool

I wasn't expecting this to be as good as it is! The directions aren't the greatest - particularly for dicing you need to carefully note the "turn the knobs" text which doesn't have a discrete step or a corresponding picture (only for this mode, it does in the other mode instructions). The base has small suction cups which help keep it from moving around, and the catch tray snaps into place such that the unit must be deployed and braced before the tray fits. The ram portion takes a bit more effort that one might expect, so give it a good solid shove rather than a gentle, wimpy push! As above, the "knobs" each engage or disengage one set of vertical cutters for dicing and julienning - which will become clear once you watch what happens as you turn each knob. This gives two widths for strip cuts, and an adjustable dial controls the thickness of slices. Other than a little frustration at first with the dicing function - and a little ongoing due to the need to carefully stack the slices back in the input tube, I can't find anything to complain about on this. Cleanup is about average - the included brush helps get the inevitable little bits and shreds out of nooks and crannies, but nothing super painful.Great tool for kids or others with limited dexterity and/or apprehension about sharp kitchen tools. Highly recommended.

I bought one for myself, then bought 2 as gifts. I love to cook all my family meals and this definitely made it easier for me to incorporate fresh veggies in every dish.

I am 80 years old with several health issues that preclude me from standing long enough to chop vegetables. This tool is tremendous help.
