UPDATE, After one year:I'm still happy with my decision to buy this brand. The quality is excellent; no open seams, zippers still work, it's still basically new. I have changed my opinion about a few things.1. I'm glad I purchased the large size. There is plenty on cushion and not too large.2. I believe the cover material has a stain resistant coating. Everything I've dropped or spilled on it has easily cleaned without leaving a stain.3. One Pro/Con. The stuffing tends to shift to areas of the backrest that isn't being used. Every so often I have to unzip the covers and move the stuffing back into place. The con is that it's constantly shifting without baffles inside to keep it in place. But that's also a positive because I can easily redistribute the stuffing back to where it is.After years of being uncomfortable sitting in bed, I decided to spring for a backrest. The choices are enough to have a different backrest every day for months. I decided on the Milliard because of the 3 different sizes and one particular review that said that Milliard is noted for quality. I have to agree. It came vacuum packed and when it was unpacked it looked horrible, which I was expecting. It also had a slight odor. I followed the instructions and unfolded it on a flat surface (my floor) for 24 hours. It completely filled out as the photograph shows. That is without fluffing, punching or struggling in any way. I picked it off the floor and put it on my bed. (I blacked out the mess) The odor was gone too. BTW, the review was correct concerning the quality. There were no loose threads or crooked seams. The fabric was thick and soft. The YKK zippers were all set in straight. (YKK makes high quality zippers.) The pillow can be attached with 2 buttons sewn onto the backrest. Each elastic loop sewn to the pillow has three openings to allow you to adjust the position of the pillow when attaching to the buttons. I also like the removable, washable cover and the ability to adjust the stiffness by removing or adding stuffing.There are 2 minor issues.1. It doesn't have pockets on the arms for storage and2. I purchased the large 24 inch size and probably should have purchased the standard size.The information did not say there were pockets and I chose the wrong size so neither can be blamed on the seller. All totaled I made a great decision and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this backrest and/or buy it again.

So I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth taken out. When I talked to the dentist they said that I would have to sleep sitting up for a few days to help with the swelling and such. This pillow as basically my home during my recovery. It is also great for just being in bed in general and watching TV or reading. The pillow is very heavy once it is completely inflates. I gave it about 2 days to totally inflate and that seemed good. The smell doesn't really go away for about 5 days but it isn't that bad, especially if you are drugged out from having your wisdom teeth taken out. I did not think I would be able to sleep as well as I did with this pillow. I don't know if it is bad for your back or neck to sleep like this all of the time but the pillow was comfortable enough that I was able to get sleep and that my partner did not get annoyed that there was a huge pillow in the bed with us.The only thing I'm not sure about is the handle but I didn't take a star off for that. I don't know if the handle will really support the weight of the pillow over time but since I don't plan on carrying it by the handle I don't think this will be a problem.

I love this reading pillow...most days. The only issue I have with it are the large buttons that are used to attach/detach the bolster. A few times a week, if I am not careful and remember to pull away just right, my hair gets snagged on them and basically gets torn from my scalp. Due to the pillow's substantial weight, it stays put while you are moving, hence the ripping from the scalp. It smarts...A LOT!With the only negative out of the way, I still think the pillow is a must-have! It is comfortable, soft, provides great back and neck support. The bolster has the ability to attach at three different levels for neck support and can be completely removed to place behind shoulder blades, middle of back or to prop up a knee. It pretty much just stays on my bed all day every day. Since I am short, and my pillow fits between the arm rests making it even cozier, I don't run the risk of my feet dangling off the bed for the boogeyman to grab. Frankly, I would buy it again for myself for my office/library, or as gifts. You should, too. The fabric is very soft and comfortable and I like that the cover can be removed to wash.The pillow is truly very big and that is why i ordered a large size. I will be using it in my car on a blow up mattress to rest my back against the back trunk door. We are driving 6 hours home from my leg surgery and i need to be as comfortable as possible. I believe K will enjoy this pillow for years after my surgery when i want to sit up in bed. It is a good purchase for me. This is not an ordinary bed pillow. Much firmer and supportive.

Great for those wanting to lay in bed, and recover from shoulder surgery. Especially if they are on the brawnier side, because its sizable. Bought it for my boyfriend, who needed it to sleep, while supporting his healing shoulder. The detachable bolster neck pillow is great for supporting the neck sitting up, and while laying down. While a recliner is the optimal place for this type of recovery, this pillow offers a second option for comfort in bed. He used the detachable bolster under his arm in the recliner as well. I plan on ordering another because I like it for watching TV. Overall a great product.
