Great light with solid/simple built in mounting...love the new strobe flash!
This is my third Light & Motion light. Love the form factor...small, mounts solidly, great battery life and lights the way effectively!I often swap this from my handlebar to the top of my helmet when I go off road. The mounting strap is super tough and solid. Love that it's connected to the light and I don't have to worry about losing another accessory to make it all work. One piece, one mount...done!The 4 modes are excellent. Bright 1000 lumen level is super bright. I only use this once in a while when it's super dark and I'm moving fast in the woods in single track. Medium level is more than adequate for 95% of scenarios I ride in. "Low" level...isn't that low and provides plenty of light with great battery life. I usually run this light at the lowest setting about 80% of the time, Medium another 15% and on High the remaining 5%. I've never had the battery die on my rides as I charge it after every use. My rides range from 1.5-3+ hours, typically. That said, if I know I'm going on a long ride, then I'll usually run it on low or medium only.4th mode: pulse with a triple strobe flash is great. I had an older version of this light that only had the pulse. While it was great for seeing, it probably wasn't as good for being seen as the pulse was subtle. The addition of the triple strobe flash addresses this minor concern. No way to miss being seen with this mode.Beam spread is quite broad, so seeing the path and trails is never a problem. This light goes with me across my bikes (road bike, hybrid bike & fat bike) and works well in every situation.Totally recommend this light...will buy another as needed.

Very bright, great strobe function
Fantastic light. The strobe function is very aggressive and therefore effective in making sure oncoming traffic sees you. I often see oncoming cars trying to turn left in front of me stop and wait for me to pass even though they’d have plenty of time to make their turns. I’m convinced the light freaks them out and makes them give me plenty of extra space, which is fine with me! I almost never use the brightest setting; the lowest steady setting is almost always adequate. Easy to strap to your bars, holds tight, and easy to remove and toss in your bag once you’ve arrived. The old school micro usb charger needs to be updated to USB-C and the flap over the charging port should be more robust and made out of rubber instead of plastic so it won’t wear out as quickly, but those are relatively minor quibbles. I had the Urban 600 for several years before this and would still have it but it was stolen when my bike was stolen. These are quality lights that do their job and last very well. Highly recommended.

Very good light, but not perfect
I've used Light and Motion bike lights for years, and I love them: they are bright, easy to use, recharge quickly, and they last through years of heavy daily use in all weather. They are easily the best urban-use, commuter-type lights I've yet come across. The only issues I have are these:1. The mounting straps are OK but not perfect. On very rough surfaces, the light will shift positions, and either point skyward or off to the side. This is NOT an issue when riding on paved surfaces, but if you're thinking about using this for nighttime gravel riding, it will work, but will be annoying.2. The battery life between charges is good, but not quite as good as Light & Motion says it is. I ride at night a LOT, and I've owned about 5 of these lights over the years, and in my experience the actual run time at any given setting is about 2/3 of what they claim. For example, if they claim it will go 1.5h at 1000w, count on 1h instead.Even considering these minor complaints, this is the best USB bike light I've yet used. It's not perfect for all uses, but for nighttime rides that last less than 3 hours on paved surfaces, this light works great.

Amazing Light
On high, the light is extremely bright. Bright enough to illuminate the darkest roadways on a moonless night. One of my friends also has one and when she was riding behind me, I kept thinking there was a motorcycle or car behind me.The down side of the high setting is that the battery doesn't last long. It will last about 1 and 1/2 hour if the weather is warm. On a cold day, you can expect less time as lithium ion batteries lose about 12% of their power when the temperature drops from 70 degrees to 32.On the other hand, 1000 lumens is as bright as some car headlights, so you really can't expect it to last long at that intensity. I've found the medium and low settings are bright enough to illuminate the street or trail under almost all conditions. The high brightness setting would only be needed in extreme situations like riding through a dark tunnel at night. Even the flashing setting will illuminate road well enough for most situations and the flashing really gets driver's attention. The flashing mode lasts 12 hours so it should be plenty for almost any situation. Here are the expected run-times at various settings.High = 1 1/2 hoursMedium = 3 hoursLow = 6 hoursFlashing = 12 hours

Bright light, love the strobe feature
This light is very bright and it has a unique flash mode where the light dims and brightens a few times then rapidly strobes. It's easy to dismount for charging once you figure out there is a screw that locks it in place. It's not needed.Like: bright, cool strobe mode, compact.Dislike: the cover for the charge port is hard to open, and will pop off and get lost if you're not careful. The battery life is as advertised...long enough for a medium commute, but I have learned to charge every night for my daily riding.

Great light
I have several Light and Motion lights. The Urban is a great light weight light with a really bright beam. The Taz lights are twice the size, but give you twice the area of light. So it is a trade off between size, weight, price, and area of light. So depending on how much peripheral light you need. You cannot go wrong with either light. My only minor, minor objection is that I wish that they supplied a longer charging cable. I have not had the Urban light for very long, but the Taz lights I have been using for my daily commute for years. They have proven to be very reliable.
