It does the job, good value for the money
I'm not following what others are complaining about. especially given the price. Perhaps the design has changed recently, not sure. I read something about cheap C-clamps that were included. I didn't get any C-clamps. Perhaps they were for clamping to unit to a bench rather than using the mounting holes. The cost of the metal to make one would be nearly $150. It's 65 lbs of heavy metal for bending metal. I didn't push it in terms of thickness of material, but it bent the metal I needed to bend. The bending leaf (the part that hinges to bend metal) has a welded angle iron bar to reinforce it, making it strong. The handles (to operate the bending leaf) are about a 1ft long, enough to provide the leverage needed. It has 4 mounting holes for securing it to a bench. But I didn't need to mount it to use it for what I needed. It was easy to assemble, and easy to use. It did have a little oil on it, which likely is to prevent rusting during inventory storage and shipping. I would say that it's NOT designed for daily use. That is, it uses thumbscrews to clamp the workpiece. Those are slower to adjust (to bite down on the work piece) as compared to a cam clamping design. However, if you don't have a lot of projects, and are willing to work with the design of the bender (dealing with the thumbscrews), then it works well. If you're in need of brake for daily use unit, spend the money on a better design. The one suggestion for improvement would be to include perhaps a durable clear plastic bag large enough to store it once assembled (while not in use). The box is too small (once assembled) to hold the unit, and it's likely subject to rusting if stored in a garage, a shed, or a workshop lacking climate control. Quick tip - use a speed square on the out feed or in feed of the material to help ensure you're getting a square bend. Overall, I think it's a good value for $150.

Exceeded expectations.
I was looking to bend .015” steel 36 inches long and did not have high expectations for an $100 brake. I was wrong. This brake well exceeded my expectations. This unit does exactly what I need it to do and very nicely nicely at that. Edges are sharp on both ends and in the middle. Functionality is smooth. And the brake is very robust (53 lbs). The top plate has some adjustment to move forward and backwards for thicker material, but the holes on mine would need to be opened up so the plate can move backwards for anything over 1/32” thick (easy file job) (I read one review that mentioned that the handles bent during use which may be due to the top plate not being back far enough). Top plate is spring loaded to slide material under easily. The construction is soft steel and welded together. I am amazed that they can sell and deliver this for so cheap. I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend the brake.

Good value!
Nice metal brake for the money! The handles are somewhat fragile, so they might have to modified @ some point. Good value! Used to bend a custom HVAC plenum-Turned out AWESOME!

Solid
Priced right for a simple brake. Purchased for a 1 off project but will use it again in the future. Solid product.

I think this will be a great addition to my DIY workshop at home.
I think this little brake is going to make many of my jobs much easier. I built a bench to mount it to. I made a few practice bends with it last night after I got it mounted to its bench. Worked effortlessly on small pieces of 20 gauge tin. Update: Imade rocker panels with it that were 36 inches long out of 20 gauge body tin. It did OK but it is right at its limit. It will bend shorter pueces of 16 gauge up to about 12 inches but again that is pushing it. Good home owner tool but not professional grade by any stretch of the imagination. Still for the price I would buy again.

It seems to be well made...
It seems to be well made for what it claims: no more than18 gauge. We will build/make another set that can be exchanged when you want to do a complete tray with all the sides included.

Bent stay bolts, very frustrating
Two bolts used to tighten down the metal before the bend are both bent, one more than the other. So when you get the metal set to the precise spot and tighten the bolt, the metal moves. Very difficult to get a precise bend. It's always off because the bolt moves the stay bar and the metal 1/8 inch one way or the other. Lots of fussing around to get a good bend.

Replace the bolts with stainless steel ones.
Made out of good material but the wing-bolts are made out of cheap material. They bend and warp easy and do not tighten down properly

This worked well , used it to bend 18 Gauge metal for patches in a chevy floor , Ups took a week longer than expected.

I was impressed at first until I noticed the folding blade and stationary bed are not correctly aligned at one end approximately by 1.5mm. It could have been bent from shipping as the box was damaged being dropped. Or it was manufactured with this defect.
