ASICS Women's Gel-Cumulus 17 Running Shoe

I ALWAYS buy Asics. I guess I have never bought ones with the cushioning on the toe. Kinda makes my toes numb when I run but think I just gotta get used to it. Otherwise they are perfect. If you have bought Asics before, you know to buy a half size big. I underpronate and Asics are the best running shoe for this. They are very comfortable and no need to 'break anything in" at all. The laces are a bit too long and with them being hot pink they kinda bug me. (why does everyone think all women love pink, yuck) The only issue I had was they weren't delivered on time. Didn't really care but the delivery update said there was an attempt via USPS and know for a fact there was not since I was here at the time. I emailed a complaint (mainly because I hate USPS) because figured Amazon needs to know things in order to fix them. They promptly refunded me and said to keep the shoes, hope I was a happy customer and would forward my complaint to fix the issue. I was shocked. I did not ask for or expect this. Felt kinda bad actually. But super nice to know that Amazon cares that much about its customers!!! You don't find that much anymore!

These shoes have been through a lot with me, and have really delivered. I am always nervous buying shoes online. However, I wanted an all-black pair of comfortable athletic shoes for a trip with lots and lots of walking (which I am not used to), and all black shoes can be hard to find in stores, so I took a risk. It worked out.These fit just as expected. Importantly for me, they have a roomy and tall toe box. They started out with decent arch support, but I have special needs so I swapped out the insoles with Superfeet. The outer soles have a great cushioning effect that reduces the discomfort from lots of walking. If you are specifically looking for all-black shoes as I was, be warned that there is some writing and reflective strips that are not black, but it's minimal and easy to cover with a marker. The reflectors still work even after being blacked out.I wore these all day, every day, for over five weeks straight. They survived long hours over pavement, stone, dirt, mud, water, sand, chalk, and surprising amounts of sheep poop. Afterwards, they cleaned up nicely and (as shoes tend to do) feel more comfortable now than when they were new.

Due to multiple reviews, I wasn't sure what size to order. I ended up ordering my usual size 8B in the onyx gel 16, which is the size I wear for all my running shoes as well as my regular shoes. In my opinion this shoe does not run too large as indicated by multiple other people. Maybe it is the Onyx color that is different from the other colors (as sometimes happens with certain brands)... I'm not sure. But definitely this did not run too large for me (almost on the slightly too large side if anything). The color of this shoe looks really sharp; neutral charcoal which splash of fluorescent green, which is what I was looking for. Comfort is good, just like the other older gel-cumulus that I have.

I switched from the Asics GT-2000 2 (or one of those 2000 models) to the Gel Cumulus after having someone at a running store analyze my gait/stride and tell me I needed a neutral shoe. I had been wearing the latest models of the GT-2000 line for probably 6 years. These shoes feel less bulky and rigid, but I think the sole is wider. Something is weird about the sole, but I can't describe it well because I don't know enough about running shoes. I find myself scuffing the road with the bottom of my shoes a few times during each run, which is something I hardly ever did before in my old shoes. The fabric near the top (by my ankle) is already wearing away after less than a month, and I only run in them 3-4 times a week.The color is cute (silver/hot pink/turquoise) and I think the Gel Cumulus is more attractive than the GT-2000s. They're pretty comfortable. I'm not sure if I've noticed a difference when it comes to running. I got them in a size 7.5. I wore a size 7 in all 5 pairs of the GT-2000s I've gone through, so I'm not sure what accounts for the sizing discrepancy. The 7s in the cumulus were too short for my feet though.Overall, these shoes are comfortable and fairly cute (for non-nike running shoes). It doesn't seem like they'll hold up for very long. We will see.

I think Asics makes a great running shoe and for years it was all I wore. I mean, all I wore, with skirts, dresses, pants and whatever I missed. I had a Morton's neuroma in one foot and Plantar Fasciitis in both and my doctor made custom orthotics for me and he recommended I wear nothing but running shoes. I have very narrow feet and the only brand that fit me was Asics. Back in those days, they were bright orange or bright pink and seldom went with any outfit I was wearing. Now the rest of the industry has caught up with them.My feet, however, which no have severe arthritis in the toes, can no longer wear my beloved Asics. I couldn't accurately answer the question about them being too small, too big, etc. They just hurt terribly when I put them all. Despite that, I could feel the wonderful cushioning they still provide for one's foot and I would strongly suggest them for people with normal feet.And my husband wears the Gel Cumulus model in extra wide and loves them.

Lovely trainers...although l ordered the wrong size and 6.5 us came instead of 6 and half uk size.

The best shoes for being on your feet all day! Feels like walking on air!!!
