The Cutech 40800H has far exceeded my expectations
This planer has quickly become an essential tool in my home workshop—one I didn’t even realize I needed until I tried it. Before purchasing the Cutech 40800H, I had never used a planer, but I needed a reliable and efficient way to produce smooth, flat boards. This machine has exceeded every expectation. Originally, I was leaning toward a Dewalt planer, but after reading reviews and watching comparison videos, I decided to give Cutech a try. I’m so glad I did. Assembly was simple, taking less than 20 minutes, and with the help of a few YouTube tutorials, I was confidently running boards through in no time. The results were outstanding—beautifully flat and smooth surfaces that actually outperformed boards I had sanded with 220-grit paper. In many cases, I can now skip sanding altogether. The Cutech 40800H has transformed my woodworking process, saving me time and delivering professional-quality results. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase and highly recommend it to anyone considering a planer.

Happy
I recommend this planner to anyone interested in purchasing one. It delivers a smooth cut with minimal to no snipe, performs better than any other planner I've owned, and is reasonably priced.

For the price a great planner! All the features that make a great tool. Shipped to my house in 3 days almost a week early. FedEx. Has my old Rigid planner beat by a mile.

Spend the time to set it up perfect.
This worked pretty good for a mobile planer. It was quite accurate after I spent the time to level the retractable tables, which was setup close but needed about 10 mins of adjusting to get it perfect. No cupping at all after I adjusted it, but there was cupping before I adjusted. It will make a great addition to my wood works! I never tried the spiral cutting planers before, it really does a good job on the wood I work with. Sitka Spruce, Douglas Fir, and Hemlock, from my Saw Mill. I was taking very thin cuts, and the finished product was great, much better than I thought it would be. Moisture meter showed my wood was about 11-12 on the wood. No sanding needed so far.

Your get what you pay for!
This is my first planer so I don't have a product to compare to; however, the quality of this product feels and looks outstanding. Most tools come shrouded in lots of plastics, but Cutech does not. This planer was running and 100% accurate out of the box within a few minutes. You get what you pay for and with Cutech I am not disappointed to have bought quality.

Well designed. No snipe.
Pleasantly surprised that after a relatively easy out of box assembly, I was able to use this machine immediately and could get perfectly coplaner surfaces with very little snipe. I found that I I mounted the machine in such a way that I could align its surface with the surfaces of a pair of tables for infeed and outfeed, then I wouldn't get any snipe at all. It wasn't obvious from the documentation, but I also found that if I feed the work pieces into the right side of the opening (nearest to the vacuum outlet), that the dust collection was much better than I found at first, when I would feed the work piece into the center of the table. I'd recommend getting the version with the tungsten carbide blades. I've already planed a lot of rough lumber (walnut, ash, cherry) and I still get perfecly flat surfaces without any ridges from blade burrs.

It's a T-Rex the size of a cooler.
If you're in the market for a very good planer but don't have a lot of space, you can stop here. I've been using this now for a few days and I can honestly say it's definitely worth the money. I do a lot of work with resin and charcuterie boards as well as hardwoods like dense purple Heart Wood. I still have a good Ridgid 3 knife planer but the knives dulled very quickly, especially with resin. This unit doesn't even compare. At all. I purchased the unit with the carbide blades and they chew through anything I have thrown at them with ease. I like the fact that it's got two speeds so when I'm sending dense Hardwood or resin through it, it doesn't need to work nearly as hard to do the job. It does strain sending end grain cutting boards in when I have no other alternative to smooth them out. Sure, it's a big bite out of your wallet but you will be glad you bit the bullet on this one.

Broken Parts and some previous wood chips. Depth gauge broken.
Broken Parts and some previous wood chips. Depth gauge broken. I must have got a previous return. Send it back to cutech this time. I ordered a replacement. I'll give it one more try and modify this review based on the quality and performance.
