Phenomenal, grows almost too well

I ordered this product after several failed attempts at growing herbs on my kitchen windowsill. This was my first experience with hydroponics, and I found the Besserite system to be very beginner friendly. The kit includes step-by-step instructions and everything that is needed to get started, minus the seeds and water.I wanted to be able to pick fresh herbs while preparing dishes, so finding a hydroponic system that didn't take up too much space on my countertop was important to me. With its relatively small footprint of 7-3/16 by 15-1/4 inches, I found this unit to be perfectly sized for our kitchen. When the lighting post is fully extended, the entire system is 16-11/16 inches tall, leaving me just enough space to slide the unit under my upper cabinets and still access the buttons on top of the light panel.Once the unit is powered on, the lights begin an automatic 16-hour on/8-hour off cycle. I do wish there was an option to manually set the timer with specific on/off times. The lights are bright, and I really wanted them to turn off by 8 PM each night. To achieve my desired lighting schedule, this meant I had to wake up at 4 AM for the initial setup. So far, this has only been a one-time inconvenience, but I assume I'll have to repeat the process for the occasional power outage or to relocate the unit.It would be nice if the kit came with more than six planting covers. When I first set the system up, I placed pods in six out of the 12 available spaces on the growing tray. Having too few planting covers only became an issue when some of my seeds failed to germinate and I wanted to remove the unsuccessful pods. I ended up covering the empty baskets with vinyl tape.I love that the kit includes support rods for the plants; however, when not in use, the holes allow quite a bit of light to pass through, which can lead to algae growth. As a precaution, I covered the empty holes and the small window on the front of the unit.Even though I made a few minor modifications, I am still very pleased with the Besserite system overall. I love being able to finally grow fresh herbs in my kitchen!

My daughter loves this. Literally start to see results on herbs within a couple of weeks. Energy efficient also

The media could not be loaded. Works great, fast growing. Only down side is make sure to put in a separate room, man this thing is bright, lights up the whole house even in the daylight

Attempted twice to grow spinach. Initially grows well and can be harvested. However, the roots run out of space and the plant doesn't do well. There is no aerial space between the roots and the water. Purchase a larger hydroponic system for sustained plant life. On the positive side, the set up and system works well.

Good quality, bright light would recommend thing indoor garden system
