Great upgrade!
These are even nicer than i expected. They are heavy, seem to be made well and look nice too. They were pretty easy to install, but i would recommend using the old hardware from the original latches. I have a 2013 JK wrangler for reference. But its so nice to drive my jeep and not have the hood flapping!

Easy install, sturdy and secure, can't believe I waited so long to do this upgrade
I have a 2013 Rubicon, have lived in Florida and Nevada all 10 years of ownership, had to replace the rubber latches every 2 years in that sun. I've only delayed doing this because my bumper system makes taking the front grill off nearly impossible and I didn't want the install hassle. Two of mine blew out on the same day - had to replace. And the Dealership charges $88 per strap (176 for both)!! For more rubber straps..... So off to Amazon I go.I bought these because they are stainless steel, I couldn't get comfortable with aluminum and noticed that most of the top 4wheel vendors make steel rather than aluminum latches.Easy Install - see the pic, these are the tools I used and I did NOT remove my front grill. Took 30 minutes start to stop. I used a 10mm and 13mm socket, and a 4mm and 5mm ball head allen wrench. The trick was to use 1/4 inch socket with a small (tiny) wratchet to reach the bolt (see pic). Easy off.To install, you don't try and thread the nut to the bolt, you hold the nut over the hole with your fingers and then thread the bolt from the outside - that way you just hold the bolt in your fingers and all the turning is done from the outside using fingers or allen wrench.AdjustmentsEasy adjustment, loosening the top hood bolts and sliding latch up or down 1/2". I was worried about adjustable latches that they might droop over time, but in my case, the top latches required me to adjust as low as possible to fit, meaning they are already as low as can go and cannot move any lower to come loose.Note you do have to transfer the rubber bumper from the original to these, it just comes off by gently twisting sideways and then install in same spot on these. The nylon lock nuts assure work will not come loose from vibration. All in all, impressed with quality and sturdy.Only Concerns:Although the bolts look big, they are held in place by 1/4" stainless steel screws on each side (the silver bolt heads in the pictures). That is not a through-bolt but screws holding a bolt in place. That means the sheer strength of these latches is on those screws, not the bolts. Remember, all of this is steel, and the OEM are rubber and plastic, I believe will be better. Will update my review after some highway miles and offroad miles.

Really nice hood latches
I had no problem installing these without spending an hour tearing off my grill. I used a quarter in drive on the pass side with a 13 deep wheel and had to use a 1/2 drive on the drive side only because my 1/4 ext was not long enough. U can go through the hole where the winshed wash fluid is and get right to the bolt and i have big hunken hands. Not scraps or smashed knuckles. Top pieces are easy to install. Just a ratchet and a 10 mm. You get a plastic spacer for under the top and bottom for against the body. The top piece had two holes in it for the bolts. For my hood to close correctly I had to have the top slid all the way to the bolt. (Bolt holes in the metal part are slotted). This left the spacers stick out just a hair on the top so I used a Dremel to slot them a bit. Purely for cosmetic because I didn't like the way I looked. Lol. Not necessarily needed... also all of my screws on the latch were loose and u need to take the bottom ones out to tighten the bolt anyway so I removed them all and added some lock tight since those screws actually hold them together so it's not something u want falling out during a trip down the highway. It would most likely not completely come apart but i like to be sure. But once again. Not needed. Lol. Over all with the mods It took me about 45 minutes to do. Not hard at all if you have any car skills. Lol. They look good

Better look half the price
Got these for my 08 rubicon. These are way more sturdy than stock. They appear much more beefy and hold the hood down well enough that there is no more flutter at highway speeds. They are they are fairly simple to install if you have a small wratchet with 13mm and 10mm sockets. It has to fit inside the fender between the panel and the radiator support. With a long extension you can get through the driver side but not the passenger. There are some youtube videos you can watch if you have issues.Directions are just ok. Who knew a socket was a "special wrench". At least I could understand them. They do miss telling you to remove the rubber stops from the oem latch and putting it on the new hook. I installed without them and then got concerned about rubbing paint between the hood and fender. I was going to stick the old rubber on with 3m tape but found they slip right on the new part where I took the 3rd photo. Dont forget them or you will see some rubbing. You will not want to tighten the top piece until you fit it. Get it both bolts seated lightly and then close and latch both sides. It will move a bit and then you can release and tighten them all. While these are not as adjustable as the rugged ridge brand they are less than half the price and look better in my opnion. The rugged ridge and other adjustable ones are just spin to adjust with the hood closed, while these you need to open and close the hood a few times and adjust the bolts and allen screws to move it but you also dont have an exposed screw and some bolts showing. If I had painted fender flairs I might be concerned with how heavy they are and marring the paint on the fender flairs but mine are just black plastic so no issues.I am very happy with them so far and would purchase them again.

Awesome little upgrade.
Fits perfect. Looks way better than the faded rubber ones and much more sturdy. Be sure to check all mounting screws as they are loosely installed.
