This is not a real KitchenAid Whip cheap imitation
This is not a real KitchenAid product. It is some cheap imitation on it doesn't work well. It hits the side of the bowl when I tried it. I tried to return it but I have to pay for the shipping and I am not sure it is worth the hassle.

Not the item advertised in photo
I was excited to find a new wire whip at a reasonable price- boy was I wrong. First and foremost this whip does not fit a ksm90 mixer. The shaft is different. Mid you look at the two pictures showing this whip the first picture has a shaft that is a little tapered at the top. In the second picture the shaft is straight. I saw the first picture and saw where it fits a ksm90 and knew I had the right one. WRONG. I will see about returning but if the shipping is too much I will just get ride of it. The quality of the metal does not seem great either. Kind of worried to use it for food items

NOT all stainless steel!! Metal finish on top disintegrates
NOT DISHWASHER SAFE, and maybe not even hot-water safe. I bought a second whisk when the metal finish on my first whisk started flaking off into my cake and cookie batters. Same thing happened with the second one. Whenever I attach or reattach whisk, my hand gets stained gray by the eroding finish. And I have to hold a piece of foil underneath so my family doesn't end up eating rust or whatever that stuff is.I have absolutely no idea why the bowl, cookie paddle, and dough hook are all dishwasher safe, but not the whisk. How hard can it be for a reputable company to make a stainless steel whisk that's dishwasher safe? And if not, at least warn all of us cooks out there that the thing has to be delicately dry-cleaned like silk or something. On the plus side, it beats eggs well. If you don't mind your eggs a little grayish.

HAND WASH ONLY !!!! Be Fully forewarned
My mistake. I did not ever envision this would be hand wash only and did not notice the lines that clearly stated it was. That line should be in BOLD print. Whisks are traditionally used to whip egg whites and must be squeaky clean to get the volume desired. I also ALWAYS use my dishwasher to get everything squeaky clean before I store something away. Return shipping costs are half of the price of the item.

Junk
The hub of this thing is made of completely unprotected aluminum. Saying that is must be hand-washed is an understatement. This thing can't even be stored in a humid place - like a kitchen. Considering this is an attachment to a food mixer, intended to whip liquids, that is completely unacceptable.Mine began to corrode only days after I got it. I only used it once, and I hand-washed and dried it immediately afterward. Then, it started to fall apart on my shelf (which was NOT next to either the sink or dishwasher). This hub should be made of a non-reactive material, like stainless steel, or at least anodized aluminum.I can't believe this is made by the same Kitchen-Aid that made my (fantastic) mixer. They should be embarrassed to put their name on garbage like this.If you need to replace your original whisk because IT corroded (like mine did), do NOT buy this or you will get more of the same. Wait for them (or a 3rd party) to come out with a proper version. Until then, get a hand mixer or stick blender. Thanks to Amazon for making this so painless to return.

Buyer beware--severe quality degradation and unhelpful seller
KitchenAid has changed the material that connects the whip attachment to the mixer, so it is no longer dishwasher safe. I put mine in the dishwasher without realizing that, and now it's a dark grey color, with grey stuff that comes off on my hands when I touch it. That's utterly ridiculous, to require hand washing of a mixer attachment. And to make matters worse, the seller of this item (SmallAppliance--an Amazon seller) doesn't mention this problem, and won't accept the attachment once it's been washed. It's not that much money to lose, but the seller should warn us unsuspecting buyers, since this is a degradation of KitchenAid quality. So don't buy KitchenAid? Don't buy from SmallAppliance? I'm not sure what a solution might be.

Mum received her's with her mixer bent and didn't know it should be silent... when I heard the raccett the original was making I ordered her this exact replacement and prest she now has a quiet whip that works as it should. Btw because of shipping being free for prime members, Amazon's price beat everyone on the internet ...

Great replacement whisk
This replacement part is not the shiny stainless steel like the original. However, it seems to work fine. I am thankful to have a part that is not broken.

Great Replacement
Several wires from my old wire whip had broken, so I needed a new one and it has served wonderfully.

Possibly counterfeit.
I'm not at all convinced this is an authentic product. As you can see there is a significant difference in fit/finish between the replacement wisk on the left and the original...

Fits perfect
It was the perfect replacement for the one I broke by dropping a metal measuring cup into the bowl while the mixer was running. My mom has never noticed a difference.
