I got this to use not just on my nails, but also as a sander for my miniature hobby (no, I do not intermix the tips, lol). For both, this works very well. It's a little weird having the controls be on the cord, but I'm finding that I really like that better, since I'm working on some fairly delicate things, and don't want to have anything bumping on my hand, or accidentally hit something, etc.The labeling on the direction is a big part of where the star gets lost: You have "R" and "F", but the manual says R means forward and F means reverse, but it's all going in circles anyway. I spent entirely too long trying to figure out the rationale behind all of this, and finally I just gave up. My brain is making the connection based on the location of the buttons, not *reading* the buttons, lol.Overall I very much do like this kit. The bits are easy to change, everything is very responsive and works smoothly. Important to note that this is NOT cordless (it literally cannot be; the power switches are on the cord, not the unit), which might matter to you. For myself, I prefer having the cord. I think the price ($17 at this review) is very reasonable for what you're getting.

This is a great set with everything you need to grind, buff, and polish your nails like in a salon. It's great at grinding down my gel nails. Good quality and easy for a novice like me to use.

I really like the Subay manicure kit. It is easy to use, so it is a consistent part of my manicure regimen. However, although the concept and purpose of the plastic cover fitting over the drill is good, it tends to get in the way when using the drill on the nail. Fortunately, using this piece is optional, and I love everything else about the set. This would make a great gift for someone who is obsessed with their nails! I recommend it.

FYI, it's a corded device and doesn't hold a charge. In this day and age where everything is on a rechargeable battery, I feel like that's something that everyone needs to know. All the controls are operated from a control pad that's about 12 inches down the cord from where it plugs in. I personally think it would have been way more easier to operate and convenient if there were buttons on the unit itself. It's an okay basic starter set, but saying "professional" is a bit of stretch.

Now that I have started doing home manicure/pedicures I realized that a drill was going to be a necessity so I ordered this Professional Manicure / Pedicure Kit, Electric Nail Drill Set with LED Display by Subay.I wasn't expecting much for the price so when it showed up I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it looks. The drill itself is made of aluminum, so it feels sturdy yet also lightweight. There is a control box on the cord that has all the options for the drill. On one side there is a switch to control forward or reverse, as soon as you push the switch to either side the unit turns on and to turn it off just push the switch back to the middle. On the other side of the controller is the +/- switch which controls the speed of the device. It counts up in increments of five to its maximum speed of 25 and has five gear settings.This drill comes with the cord, a dust brush, user instruction booklet and nine drill bits. Any job that needs to be done there is a bit for it, and I appreciate that in the instruction booklet there is a diagram to show what each bit is used for.I don't have a lot of experience with nail drills but this one is very easy to operate. It seems to shift to gears smoothly and I like that with the five gear option I can experiment with the lower gears before committing to more power. To me this drill does not sound noisy at all even on the highest gear, and the vibration is much less than I expected as well.All in all I'm very happy with the look, build and how well this drill functions. It is currently selling for $22.99, which is why I was not expecting much, but it turns out I am impressed by this device and feel that the price offers a very good value. It would also make a lovely gift for somebody just starting out doing their nails.
