It looked like a great product, but I was not able to get it to work for me.I followed the instructions, but it was not working for me.UPDATE:My issue was I was only following the instructions that arrived with the product.Not a good idea as it does not list certain things that are not obvious to users who are not tech savvy.The instructions do not show that the USB bends back to expose a micro USB. If it had it would have saved me a lot of aggravation.Please know that if using on a phone you must open the USB to expose the micro USB in order to connect to the little adapter.Directions need to be very detailed. Go back to the site and look at pictures also to get an idea.

Setup and use were very easy. Had no problems using it with my Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Android app as well as with Quicktime Player on my MacBook Pro. The only problem, which was why I gave this 3 stars, was the inability to manually focus the camera--it's a fixed focus lens. But for the price (and since I've stuck it in my ears!), I'll keep it around.

So I plugged this into my computer and ran wxcam (a simple Linux app to read from video devices) and I get a nice clear picture, just as advertised. No fuss, no drivers to install, just plug it in to my computer and it works. I was able to clean out some wax that I did not know was there, but more important, I was able to see exactly what was inside my ear. I knew immediately if I had wax blocking my ears or not.WARNING - the ear cleaning attachments can do severe damage to your eardrum, be VERY CAREFUL with them when cleaning your ear. If in doubt, let your doctor or medical professional clean your ears for you.I give this five stars. It works exactly as advertised.

My android phone only recognizes the camera sometimes.... and even then, it will suddenly stop working. My desktop computer, with Windows, only recognizes the camera after I've plugged it in and unplugged it and plugged it in again.... SEVERAL times.When it actually works, it's a decent little camera. It's a bit large for an ear camera, though. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to add an attachment or something to help it fit and focus better, because the instructions are ridiculously unhelpful.... BUT, it gives a pretty decent picture of my eardrum, and definitely could be used to diagnose an ear infection.... when it works!

This product is pretty amazing for the price, the photo quality is pretty good, and the start up and using of the product is super simple ( I used it on a MacBook, I don’t know how the process would be on another device). I often get swimmers ear due to the odd shape of my ear canal, and bought the product so I could see what was going on in my ear without visiting a doctor every time. I could clearly see where the issue was and was able to clear out the excess wax and apply medication. If you are looking for a similar reason I highly recommend this to you!

The suggested app did not work, looked all over the web for another, the one that was found should the poor quality of picture generated and difficult to use.Not as advertised!UPDATEThe people have been great to work with they are refunding my money and expressed concern over my disappointment. I got this to inspect my own 69-year-old ears for wax build-up. It works as directed, but it is much more difficult to inspect my own ears that I thought it would be. I easily installed the specified apps, and I used the otoscope with my Android phone and also with my Windows laptop. It simply is difficult, and will take much practice, to usefully aim and manipulate the pencil-style otoscope while viewing the images on a screen.

Picture quality was fairly blurry. I'm a nurse and was excited to see if I could use this to diagnose an early ear infection on myself before heading to the doctor. But when looking at the tympanic membrane, it was just a blur. Also, I never could get the app to work with my phone (samsung galaxy s8), so I had to use my laptop. My fellow nurse friends were all prepared to buy one to look in their kids ears for ear infections before dragging them to the doctor, but I guess that's still their only option.
