Portable USB Document Camera Scanner S600 with,A3 Capture Size,5 MegaPixel CMOS, High-Definition Digital Visual Presenter

In a quick change of plans, I had to teach 2 college level courses online this summer term. Most of my class lectures rely heavily on note taking from a white board in class. I used this camera to share my screen and within 11x17 pad wrote notes as if on a board with the other camera on me during lecture.

I got this several years ago, it worked fine for a while and then I packed it away until I needed it again... it wouldn't work, the computer would not recognize it (several different computers). I tried to contact the company, and after 5 messages, they never bothered to reply. Could not get any support, or anything from the company. DON'T BOTHER WITH THIS BRAND, I am now forced to buy another scanner to scan legal books...

Not at all as i expected. Clearly “old” tech. Drivers came on a mini dvd which is useless today. I found driver on internet but it feels like 1995. Picture mediocre, focus is slow to respond. Wish I could say better things. It functions.

I unfortunately can't use for what I bought it for, which was to record video. Don't get me wrong, you can record videos with this, but the frame rate is well below usable for my intentions. It's pretty solidly for document scanning or stop motion video. There's a lot of useful settings and features, but it'll take a while to get the lighting right for it to be perfect. It took a minute to figure out which program to use (that wasn't in Chinese), but it's fairly easy to operate once you've got that down.

Moving from in the classroom to in my spare bedroom was made easier by this docu scanner. I can Zoom with my class, show passages from a book, write in real time, copy previous slides for easy toggle between documents. It's not easy to download the drivers if you don't have a dics drive on your laptop. The instructions could be a bit easier to follow (English is my only language), but if you're familiar with a docu scanner, you can get the hang of it quickly. The real issue is having to have administrator rights every time you open the app. This is problematic in a school setting (we bought two) as the IT Dept was not happy about giving out an admin password to use the device. I am still keen to purchase more for other instructors now that I've worked out the minor inconveniences. Overall, I'm really satisfied with this product and will use it for a long time to come.
