I have always like the product for it's obvious advantages but one deficit that disappointed was the texture or level of grind. The granules were too large to dissolve in my coffee. They would sit at the bottom of the cup and at the end of the drink you would get hit with a shot of over sweet coffee.Someone in the manufacturing process must have decided to do something about that problem and that was to grind the product to a finer consistency. This last bag (3 Lb) was different and an improvement. Granted, if you leave this product out it will clump more easily but keep the bag in an airtight container and you will be fine. I am an admitted sugar addict and this stuff is the first and only product that closely resembles my drug of choice. Good stuff.

Been using domestic birch xylitol for some years. This is just fine as far as taste goes.Problem is that it's too coarse [i.e. big] a 'grain' and doesn't dissolve as well/fast, requires more stirring than sugar.Too easy to overlook that extra stirring needed and end up with it in bottom of cup.

This product tastes the most like sugar of those which I have tried, but beware of putting too much on your cereal as this gave my husband and me (on separate occasions) terrible abdominal cramps and diarrhea. Reading up on it, I find it is banned in Europe for this reason.

It appears they've changed the manufacturing process (either that or I received a production anomaly like the bottom of the barrel...) . I've been happily using this product for years and love it. The consistency of this latest bag is much finer, dense and moist than previous bags - almost like powdered sugar. The good news is it dissolves much faster in my coffee now. The bad news is that it does not pour freely from my sugar dispenser as it gets clogged. The taste has not changed.

I have reordered this the 3rd time. The taste is the most sugar-like of any sweeteners I have tried. I use it my coffee and cereal as well as cooking. Helps me keep my weight under control.

Use in baking, on cereal, hot oatmeal, smoothies, everything you would put regular cane sugar in......also being diabetic it doesn’t spike my blood sugar values.

This is an approved sweetener on the Cruise Control Diet, and it is my favorite sweetener. It tastes like sugar, measures like sugar and looks like sugar. You can bake with it, cook with it, and the heat does not break it down. It is also healthy for your gums. Although it is a bit pricey, I will continue to use it.

Price for birch-based xylitol has risen dramatically over a short time for some reason??

It is difficult to find Xylitol made from birch rather than corn. I am allergic to corn. This product is excellent and the large package is a good value per ounce.

Lovely sweetener.... great in my coffee and baking.
