There are a few mug cake cookbooks on the market right now. The reason I chose this one was because the recipes were simpler than others (no butter or eggs). I tried the chocolate mug cake in the book preview and it was delicious! It tasted more like a brownie than a chocolate cake but tasty nonetheless. Since I don't like my cakes too sweet, I modified the recipe simply by adding less chocolate.If you go on Kirbie's Cravings (author's blog), you can check out a bunch of her other mug cake recipes if you're still on the fence about purchasing this. Lots of easy recipes with pretty pictures; I spent hours sifting through her posts! I can tell the author has put a lot of thought into creating the recipes for both her blog and this cookbook so I'm always happy to support such commitment.The book is flexibound so it's paperback, but it's of very high quality. The flexibound also means that you can lay the book down flat and refer back to it when you're baking. The pages are colorful and include lots of high resolution photos. I can't wait to start making more mug cakes, especially the savory ones!

This book came in backwards and upside down. Not sure if it was just a defect on this particular one, but it's still easy to use as long as I remember to flip the book over before looking for a recipe.Although it's defected, this book has a wonderful variety of mug cakes. Lots of different recipes to make fairly quickly! Good purchase to have if you enjoy easy to make mug cakes!

For using only handful of ingredients (quite literally) and taking just a few minutes to make, these cakes are pretty good. I wouldn't say they were the best cakes, but they are just so convenient and I haven't had a bad one yet.They tend to come out a little rubbery as compared to other cake, but are still very tasty. They also don't look like the photos and may not be appealing on their own, but some whip cream hides that well. I wouldn't plan on serving them at a dinner party unless you find a solution to the rubbery problem (different flour?) and you will spend more time topping one than making one. But once again: very convenient and they do taste good.My wife likes them so much she ordered the book for one of her pregnant friends who also enjoys them.

I got this for my daughter for Christmas, and she now has a mug cake almost every day. In fact, her siblings are frequently asking to borrow her book so they can have mug cakes too. The recipes are pretty simple overall, and use mostly common ingredients; plus there is a lot of variety in the offerings. They are hard to mess up; once little sister poured too much milk in and the cake turned out just great. For high altitude, I suggest reducing the baking soda/powder by half; add a dash of salt to bring out the flavors. All in all, lots of fun for the whole family.

Cute book, pics and recipes. Have to remember these recipes are NOT going to taste like the real full blown recipe but do cure a quick sweet tooth and are edible micro recipes. I liked them for that reason. Nice for single people, no mess when making and quick

These are way too easy and too much fun. I’m having a blast trying different ones. And I already have a number of favorites marked. One single serving when you need a sweet treat without baking a cake or a full batch of cookies

I was given delivery dates of 15th - 17th Sept and my book arrived on the 15th, very pleased with it arriving on the earlier date. The condition was absolutely amazing, as they had described it, "like new", you couldn't tell it had been used.
