It's always smart to use the replacement ink sold by the printer maker. Off brand inks clog up the printer & need constant cleaning. Brother ink lasts a long time & produces crisp, clear printouts. There is a display on the printer screen that shows you how much ink is in each tank. This feature doesn't work with off brand ink.

I use this in my awesome Brother ink tank printer/copier/fax machine. Great quality, lasts as long or longer than expected. Will definitely buy more in the future.

When my Brother printer ran out of ink a while ago, I chose to go with a generic ink because of the price difference between it and the OEM Brother brand of ink. While I saved a little money then, I noticed immediately that the Black was not as dark and I was unable to see how many printed sheets the cartridges were estimated to have left. However, the main problem arose a couple of months later when the Black ink jet wound up getting clogged. I purchased a printer jet cleaner kit, and, after many failed attempts to clean the printer head over the course of a week I finally had to give up and had to buy a new printer.This OEM cartridge works exactly how you would expect. The print quality is excellent, I can see how many estimated printed sheets I have left and I have had no problems with clogging in any way.I know others have had success using generic ink cartridges and I may have been among few who had a problem. Still, I think I'll stick to the OEM cartridges going forward.

I've been sticking with official Brother Ink for my printer. I've purchased colored ones before, but this is my first replacement for the Black Ink. It's super easy to use and this method of ink refilling is way cheaper than my previous printer. I'm very happy with the print quality as it's just as good as it's been on the cartridges that came with the printer.Great product, would buy again.

NOT TIMELY ENOUGH FOR BUSINESS PURPOSES ..... again unable to present due to lack of INK .... really?? this could equate to $10,000-$30,000 Commission lost because I relied on this service. I usually create my best marketing materials in wee hours of the night, so being able to print and prepare before I can run frantically to a office supply store for ink is not appreciated!! I am unsatisfied with the Brother Ink Refresh program, second time I'm low on ink during a critical time, I cannot afford to rely on this program to keep my printer functioning at professional level, I lose opportunity to present quality client specific marketing material!

After contacting Customer Service and speaking to a very nice rep Amazon replaced the missing cartridge the very next day. I am pleased with their response. Brother cartridges are the best and worth the cost if you have a Brother printer.

If you can afford to purchase the authentic replacement cartridges, you should do so without hesitation. While the value for your money isn't great, this cartridge will play nicely with your machine and you get the kind of results you expect.
