Alternative To ADD Meds
I was diagnosed with adult ADD (ADHD) but have been reluctant to go on medication from Big Pharma. I've tried other supplements that help a bit like B-Complex, Ginseng, GABA, L-Theanine, Kava, Ashwagandha, and other cognition and mood enhancers. While they can help a bit, nothing worked really well. I was at a local vitamin store and asked if they had any supplements that work good for my condition. The store manager admitted to suffering from ADD as well, and recommend this supplement. They didn't carry it any longer, so I was thrilled to find it on Amazon. I've only taken the small, round, orange, easy-to-swallow Doctor's Best Calm pills a few times, but it seems to do the trick. Like most of us I experience stress, and it seems to *calm* my mind while keeping me alert. Things still bother me, but not as much. Also, where my ADD kicks in is that I have a hard time multitasking. I may be working on a few projects at once but often get distracted resulting in a lot of partially finished projects. Since taking this product, I'm able to focus better on a single task and get it done so I can move on to the next. Thoughts seem to flow like a stream rather than like water from a shower head. I had not heard of Zembrin (Kanna) before but apparently it is a potent plant extract that has been used for such purposes for decades. I'm here to tell you that thus far it is working for me. It might not be as potent as ADHD medications like Adderall, but it doesn't have the side effects either. If they made a blend using Zembrin and the other supplements I mentioned previously, they could put Big Pharma out of business in this arena. ~ Kort

Works for me
I'm told I have cyclothymia and I've noticed this to help with my anxiety from childhood so that I can work through the issues underlying it. I do have a lot of trauma and when I try to do trauma work it doesn't completely cover that though. Update I ran out of these because I wasn't too sure how well they were working I didn't refill right away. I can say this, I have been crazy anxious the last two weeks and I actually prayed with someone about my anxiety and she said do you ever take an herbal anti-anxiety medicine and I said 'yes, but I just ran out......' Um, yes, the prayer is helping but because of my upbringing I may need to consistently take this. Also, I just flew off the handle with some of my friends so that's something I never do but I think I might have done it before I started taking this if I had been around so many people before.

Seems to have definite potential!
It's very early for me to be writing this review. I've only taken three of these things so far. I almost didn't even notice the effects of the first one; I had to go to a meeting and popped one ahead of time. It made me talkative and I find myself wondering if the folks at the meeting might've thought I was on drugs or something. I was probably fine; it was the first time I'd met any of them, and we all got along great. I am very socially anxious, though--this was all pretty remarkable for me. I remember on the drive back, I was in an incredibly good mood. Smiling, cheerful--felt like everything was comin' up Milhouse or something. I took another one later that evening. I wish I hadn't, because I think it messed with my sleep. Also, I drank two beers--not sure how well alcohol mixes with this. When I woke up this morning, I took one with my cup of coffee. Later in the day, I noticed the same thing--just an incredibly good mood. Playing music that I liked in the car, feeling good, etc. Writing this late at night because I think I'm feeling kinda wired now. My jaw hurts a bit--apparently this stuff causes me bruxism--jaw clenching--which isn't all that great. I chewed gum for the first time in forever today. I'll keep updating this. PRO: Once it "kicks in," I'm in a very, very good mood. Less socially anxious, more talkative. Feel relaxed and happy. CON: Jaw hurts from clenching. I feel a little wired and think this may be messing with my sleep schedule. I wish I could get a half-dose of this, but the pills hold powder, so I dunno if there's an effective way of doing it. It may be that I took too much--the bottle does say only to take one a day. Here's hoping!

Hard to say if it works
Decided to try this out to help with frequent anxiety. After taking it daily for about a week, it seemed to give maybe a small energy boost about an hour after taking but I don’t think it helped with stress or felt like anything had really changed. The energy boost is tough to explain because it’s not like a coffee boost, more of an awareness boost. But in such a mild way I’m not sure I can attribute it to this. Probably not worth buying again

Had the opposite effect on me.
I feel like this product seems to work really well for some people. Unfortunately, when I took it - it seemed to make me irritable and increase my anxiety. I did not feel calm and focused. I felt over stimulated and nervous with a weird sense of dread. I felt sort of high, but without the euphoric friendly part. I may be one of those people with MTHFR genetic polymorphism. I can’t figure out if I’m over methylating or under methylating, (as I seem to relate to both of the descriptions!) but for some reason I’ve had poor luck with supplements in this realm. I’ve also had similar effects starting SSRI’s. I always end up stopping a few days in - because I feel absolutely horrific, like someone pumped me with 10,000 mg of caffeine. I understand that you’re supposed to give a little bit more time for your body to adjust - but I can never make it that far. This leads me to believe I may need to focus more on dopaminergic supplements or things that target acetylcholine. For those of you reading this, it might be worthwhile to check out Dr. Ben Lynch‘s book “Dirty Genes.” I tried to supplement for three days and finally returned it. I felt so much better once it was out of my system. I think it’s wonderful that it works well for others but it was not right for me. You’ll now on the first day if it works well with your body chemistry.
