Helikon-TexUrban Courier Bag Large, Shadow Grey/Black, Urban Line

Due to a shoulder injury, I needed to switch from using a backpack to a messenger style bag. I had wo requirements: it had to fit my 13" laptop and be able to carry two exterior water bottles. I also needed room for my tools, lunch, and other everyday carry items. This bag exceeded my expectations. It's also got the best shoulder strap on the market. I've been using it daily for several weeks now and love it. It's also a great value for the price.

I ordered a black one for a gift but turns out the green color was preferred. Since I got it, I decided that it might be a good bag for me, so I decided to keep it for myself. First of all, it's super light but, it's really a thin material. I'm not confident in taking it on a 3-week overseas trip, carrying it every day. As a few reviewers have said, the flap when closed does NOT cover the 2 ends of the bag, unless you physically pull the flap ends over, once that's done it comes undone when walking around with it over my shoulder. Rain would most definitely enter the bag if you're not careful. Where I'm traveling to, rain is a big possibility.The interior has lots of room but ..... there's no small pockets or loops or anything. I knew that but didn't think about the cost to add interior pouches. Sure, you could go and buy Velcro admin panels and various organization pouches but if you only put just 2-3 pouches in, this bag would cost $140.00 or more depending on the cost of pouches/loops! Funny that their Bushcraft Satchel has one mesh pocket in it. The 2 water bottle holders are very tight, struggled to get a 16oz Hydro Flask wide mouth in, getting the bottle out was a 2 handed operation!The shoulder strap is stiff but comfortable and very adjustable.This bag is the perfect size for me but going to return and look for another courier bag that is a heavier weight fabric and more interior pockets/organizers included in the price. If I were to use it just occasionally, I would keep it.

This bag is put together quite well.The padded strap is comfortable, easily adjusted. The padded section of the strap is quite long, allowing for shifting without loosing padding.Cons: The hook and loop is reversed in the bag flap closure. The hook side is on the flap, which means it could damage your shirt if you are not careful. This is easily fixable, so not a problem considering the remarkable quality and low price.

I have gone through soooo many bags and backpacks trying to find just the right one for Every Day Carry, and this one is close to perfect. I want something that gives me a lot of capability without looking like some tacticool wannabe navy seal and drawing everyone's attention everywhere I go. This bag fits the bill. When I got it, I was actually a little disappointed at first because the design is so unassuming and generic looking that I was wondering why I paid so much for this (I consider the price at the mid-high end of messenger bags). But when I started using it I saw that it is exactly what I wanted. It is actually very high quality: good fabric, great velcro-type closure for the lid, well-designed (the front pocket billows out when full-so clever!), and the zippers are probably the smoothest I have ever used. And all of this quality, in a generic-looking "gray man" form. Wonderful! So why do I only give it four stars?This bag is almost perfect, but not quite. I wanted a bag with a small-medium size, carry handle (check!), concealed carry pocket with loop fabric to velcro on a holster (check, although the zipper placement to open this pocket in a hurry is only acceptable, not ideal), good pockets and ideally modular customizability with hook and loop admin pockets etc (check!) AND, the hardest to find feature apparently: exterior end pockets that will actually fit Nalgene 32oz. bottles comfortably. This is where this bag falls short for me. If you really work at it, you can force a 1 liter Nalgene or (maybe!) a Klean Kanteen 40oz. water bottle in the end pockets, but it is really, really tight and difficult to do. And then the bottle sticks up high enough that I worry it could fall out. (I'm going to try to make paracord retaining straps, but still.) Why can't anyone make a bag with REAL waterbottle holders, instead of slapping something on as an afterthought. The only bags I've ever seen that comfortably fit an adult-sized water bottle are the Kelty Map 3500 and the Maxpedition Jumbo Versipack.Overall though, I really like this bag and am impressed with the company. Just wish they would fix the water bottle situation, make the strap a bit better, and make the concealed carry area more accessible. Still, I'm enjoying using the bag and like it more than all my other options so far.

Despite being manufactured "off-shore" the quality is excellent. The strap alone is above average at this price. The only changes I'd like to see is a "thru" zipper in the cover flap to allow access to the main compartment without unclipping and flipping the cover and the depth of the rear zipper compartment is a tiny bit shallow and will barely allow a typical magazine to fit.Otherwise it is 90% perfect and I was impressed with the quality/value. It served me well on a 4 day trip as my carry on.

A bit pricey, but made very well. Unfortunately it doesn't come with any of the interior accessories shown but I bought them from a great Ukrainian company, M-TAC. Overall this bag does hold a lot though and is still work it I think.

The bag is lightweight and has a lots of space. Use this bag for conferences and other official meetings and travel.

This is a great bag but the listing is very misleading as it shows holders for pens, phone etc but nowhere in the description does the listing say that additional items will be required to be bought to create the same bag as shown. Misleading.

Always great gear from Helikon Tex. Well made, sturdy and reliable at a good price. Couldn’t really ask for more. Disappointing that you have to buy the organiser section separately, it should really come with one fitted. Another good addition would be a rain cover for the bag. Otherwise great bit of kit.

Smaller than you think when u look at the pic on line, had a few comments that the denim colour which I got looks like a nappy bag!!!!

This fits all the stuff I need, my laptop, note book, water bottle and smoothie bottle. Plenty of zip pouches inside and out. It’s an Ally bag, quite simple. I’d recommend it and have done.

This is a lovely bag very well-made very sturdy and if you get the Velcro inserts for it fantastically organisable, very very pleased
