It's amazing to see how far kids toys have come.
Though I originally got this one for my nephew in Florida, we also ended up with one thanks to Santa ;) So, if you ask my 4 year old how he ended up with 3 light sabers for Christmas, he'll say it's b/c he was such a good boy last year. However, us broke parents (and grandparents!) know Santa gets all the credit while we end up paying off credit cards until the next Black Friday rolls around. With that said, this light saber by far is the best of the 3 my son got from "Santa". And I say it's the best, not b/c it's the best quality (b/c it's not compared to others out there), but it was the best in regards to the price, its durability (considering it's a toy and not one of those so called collectors item light sabers) and cool sound effects and look. Compared to the other 2 light sabers (Santa also got him the Star Wars The Black Series Yoda Force FX Lightsaber, retails $149.99 on Amazon, and The Force Awakens Kylo Ren Electronic Lightsaber, retails $49.99 on Amazon), this one was right in the middle as far as price and while the Yoda Lightsaber was of better quality (b/c it was more of a collector's item than a toy), this Lightsaber was more durable, which to me is far more important when you have a 4 year old swinging it around. It was also more authentic looking than the Kylo Ren Lightsaber. As far as the sound effects go, it was equally as realistic as the collector's item one and even better, this Lightsaber could color change, where as the Yoda Lightsaber only stayed green. So overall, while I don't agree with the price gouging of anything and everything Star Wars related, I thought this purchase was by far one of the best as far as building his Star Wars mania collection.

great toy, great purchase when we bought them at $30
I bought these for our kids when they were listed at 30.99. For that price I think they are one of the best toy-purchases we ever made. They are not super durable (don't wack them as one of our younger kids did and broke it), but if you hit them normal they will last. It is the type of toy that we don't leave sitting out in the toy room bc they will get broken in 5 minutes, but we have them on a shelf and our kids can ask for them and use them whenever they want, the kids (now) know they can hit them together but not bang them with all of their might. (we have 5 kids ages 3-12). they are actually pretty cool when you hit them, they make a 'woooosh' noise and the light flashes. Our family has a great time with them and honestly I think my husband has as much fun with the light saber battles as our kids do. Recently we had some friends over and one of our friends and his son were missing for a little bit. My husband came back outside and said "they are in the living room having a light saber battle". they are really that fun. so I thought "AWESOME", now I know what to get my son's friend for his birthday! That is when they were $30. I was okay spending $60 (because lets face it, they are light sabers, you need 2) BUT I just logged in to buy them, and see Amazon now has them listed for $50. That would be $100 to buy 2. I wish I could buy them, but for that price, I just can't.

Star Wars Anakin to Darth Vader Color Change Lightsaber Toy
This is a well made toy Light saber that made my grandson's eyes get as big as saucers when he got it for his birthday! It is very realistic and the color changes are bright and not faded out so I considered one of my best purchases. In addition it growls with a Darth Vader sound. There is a two position switch hardly noticeable on the handle but this is either a demo mode of you can change colors by depressing the switch. The long barrel (With the light) is made from translucent plastic with LED's inside. As long as the kids don't strike objects with it like a hammer, it should last and not break. I think it is a well made toy which is rare these days. Although not cheap at Amazon @ 37 dollars, it appears that it is built to last and that's a good thing. It arrived on time without damage and in excellent condition.

It's cool.. typical Chinese toy
It's cool.. typical Chinese toy. I bought mine for the upcoming starwars movie, I plan on dressing up a bit, having seen every StarWars movie in the theater on release day.. yes that probably dates me a little. If you are buying one for the upcoming movie, be careful that you don't get screwed on the price. This is a 29 dollar product on its best day. 80 bucks? Never. If you have the money to burn and you are buying this now, go for it I guess... It is fairly bright and lights up a small dark room easily, can be used to help you find your seat at the movies :) Would be a great Halloween prop as well. There isn't an easy way to 'holster' this unless you get a bit creative. The handle will keep the 'saber' from falling through a decent sized belt loop, but im talking about pants that have an extra loop built in that you could use for a hammer, etc... You'll need to construct something if you want to holster this securely. It's a fun item... my family thinks I'm nuts for buying it for myself and not my child. One last thing, this is not one of the 'telescoping' ones that you can collapse down.. it's full size / open full time. If you are 'using' it in a darker environment, this isn't a problem... but it kind of looks like you are walking around with a florescent light tube during daylight. Strong enough to handle some 'gentle' wacks on the side of the couch, etc.. I wouldn't want to do any horseplay with it though.

My 7 year old son loved it. It comes with the "Try Me" setting on, and it's hard to find a tiny little button on the handle to change it. But once done it worked perfectly!

This item arrived in a tatty, dusty and ripped box. The packaging is terrible. The item itself has a very cheap feel. It is not worth the £133 price tag. I would avoid this product.
