Must have for Catholic toddlers
My son absolutely ADORES this book. He isn’t even 2 yet and I start reading “I went to...” and he’s yelling “mass” before I can. I continue, “what did I”...he’s telling “see”. He continues naming all the things we see as I read it. He also likes to point out that Jesus is there on the crucifix. Now at mass when he gets restless I whisper in his ear “I went to mass, what did I see” and he immediately looks around for the priest, crucifix, altar, etc.Beautiful, simple illustrations through this book go perfectly with the toddler friendly “story”. I’d totally buy a volume 2 that was “what did I hear (or smell, or touch, or do... or even just more I see)” in a heartbeat. We’ve wish listed more children’s books by this author so watch for reviews on them as well.We have a TON of catholic kids books but this is an absolute toddler favorite.

Best book to teach toddlers+ about the mass!
This is a really cute book and educational! I only wish it came as a board book because my toddler niece "loves" books. We only take it out to read when I am with her, but still have to be careful. This would make a great gift for a child who is past being rough with books. It is a cute and fun way to learn about things we see at mass!

Great visual vocabulary type of book
BOOK “I WENT TO MASS WHAT DID I SEE?”.I bought this book on April 2019 (Easter present) for my almost 3 year old son.Goals: • To teach him about Mass. • Help him to pay more attention and understand more what is going on during Mass (hopefully!).Likes/Pros/Advantages: • Big to see better. • Beautiful design highlights the things that “I see”. • Few words just to get to the point and show most important things to look at and find during Mass. • It is more a visual and vocabulary type of book than a story type of book.Dislikes/Cons/Disadvantages: • Maybe a little bit too big to put in his backpack to take to Mass. I’ll have to get him a bigger backpack or use another bag. • It is not a board book. It is a hard cover book with regular type of “soft” paper inside. I wish it was a board book with “hard” pages so it is more “protected” from toddler’s hands and it is also easier for toddlers to turn the pages. This is the only reason why I put 4 stars to this book. Conclusion:We have not taken this book to Mass yet so I am not sure yet if it will fulfill my expectations. But so far we read it at home a couple of times with my son and he was like 75% interested and he responded well to the questions I was asking him while reading this book.I will update this review after taking this book to Mass with us in the next weeks. So far I would recommend this book!

Books if fine but greasy fingerprints? or something on cover
This is a new book. The book is very good. But, I'll have to return it in the hopes of getting one without what looks like greasy fingerprints ? smeared across the dust jacket as it is a gift and it's a bit gross. The book is good enough to try again. Especially since another item packed in the same box had similiar greasy finger smears or something else on it, too.

Perfect tool to teach young children!
Perfect for our 2.5 year old! Mass with a toddler can really be a struggle sometimes. Not kidding, we started seeing a change in behavior during Mass the first week after we purchased this book! Suddenly so much more interested. We read this book everyday and our little one looks forward to it (and requests it!)! So helpful in engaging children with your faith at an early age!
