It works, no dropouts or anything. Does exactly what a cable should do. The lock protectors are a plus if you're pulling it back through a hole or something.

I took this cable to connect my existing router with the Bell fiber gateway. I know that even Cat 6 would hold a heavy load very well given relatively short distance and minimal interference, but I liked the idea of having Cat 7 for futureproofing. Especially because I plan to upgrade to a prosumer router with 10 gig LAN which is something that I've been looking for a while but it’s still very expensive. Cable is 5.8 mm thick which is slightly more than typical Cat 5 / 6 cables and the reason is because Cat 7 ensures additional individual shielding protection for each of 4 wire pairs. As such it is much more resilient to any interference. That results in less packed droppage and provides higher speeds. To be more specific: * Cat 6 cables supports 250 MHz frequencies which can carry up to 10 Gbps of data * Cat 7 cables support 600 MHz frequencies and can go beyond 10 gigs, all the way up to 40 Gbps theoretical speed. This is definitely overkill for home usage but if you're an enthusiast like I am and have some sort of home lab, then this kind of cable is definitely something you should consider. Connectors with metal sleeves are standard for Cat 7 and they look very well made on this cable. As expected, testing with my limited equipment at this point didn’t move the needle but the cable performed impeccably. Conclusion: high quality Cat 7 cable with reasonable price (13.67$ at a time of order) Final verdict: 5 stars

Long ago I have realized the convenience of having a good long network cable readily available – particularly for on-site setups and testing; and ever since I’ve been always carrying around one or two. Recently testing a stubborn connectivity issue, I realized that my good-and-trusted-old cables were… old. Specs for the system called for Cat6, and they were Cat5 – the best ones available… many moons ago when I got them. This Cat7 cable should serve as the new workhorse for years to come; as a bonus, it is grounded (this was the first time I saw the “G” light up on my tester – usually I tested cables I made, and they were so far never grounded). Good cable, solid length – recommended! (Oh yes- the issue I was tested was not because of the cable quality – the software malfunctioned).
