So far, so good. (***Update***) It checks the early boxes. - Looks good. - Doesn't feel cheap. - Comfortable. - Water proof. - Good grip. - Strong Laces. I intend to use these for hiking and in emergency/survival situations. So trusting these will be very important. I have a family of 5, so being cost effective when purchasing a new product is huge. The price seemed a little too good to be true, but motivated me to try an unfamiliar brand. I purchased these for my wife and this was the feedback I received so far. The problem is: - You don't want to really challenge somethings full capabilities that you had to spend your own money on (why ruin them before you need to) - I need to get myself a pair (or two) so I can really challenge their capabilities. - The only complaint I had was about the look. It looks good. But when you get in close, you can see how it was put together. Doesn't bother me but its important to note. My rating (so far) is a 3. (Rating Key below) - The most important thing will be DURABILITY. Like I said, I haven't been able to really put them to the test but I hope to very soon. I have a lot of high dollar outdoor boots, Kennetrek, Crispi, etc. but these boots I found on Amazon are my go to everyday boots. Even wore them elk hunting in the back country of Idaho. They fit well zero break in period, feet stay warm and dry and lots of ankle support. I have plantar fasciitis and there is plenty of arch support as well. Also, at this price point I don’t mind how much I abuse them. Would buy again.

I bought these based on several reviews saying that the ankle support was good. I love to hike but I have chronic ankle instability which can cause me a lot of joint pain and limits the distance I can walk. I was a little nervous about purchasing shoes on-line because I have trouble finding shoes that are comfortable for me. These boots are really nice and well made. They have good traction on the hiking trails and the ankle support so far is wonderful. I do have a little difficulty getting into them because they are so snug but once in they feel pretty good. Ordering a boot hook to help with pulling them on should solve this small problem. I have been on several hikes so far and my ankle and joints have felt great even after a longer hike when I am usually limping back to the car I am still steady on my feet and feeling pretty good. The only issue for me is I wear a size 10 and that is what I got. When hiking downhill my toes bang into the front of the boot and this can be very uncomfortable and a real problem for people who go longer distances. I only have this problem when going downhill. So I suggest going up 1/2 size from what you normally wear. Unfortunately for me they don't make these in a 10.5. I am a little concerned that going up a full size will lessen the good support on my bad ankle. We will see how well they last me and then I may or may not give that a shot.

Shoes run TTS and are very comfortable. I wore them with ankle braces due to past injuries, but even alone, they felt very stable and secure around the ankle. They survived a week of hiking through trails (rock, dirt, wet and dry surfaces) in the Great Smokey Mountains- I'm a newby hiker but I would buy these again in a heart beat.
