I'd been looking for quite some time for the "right" small bluetooth speaker to take with me while traveling, to use as an external speaker when playing music or videos on my computer, iPad or phone. After listening to quite a variety at local retail stores, from the high end jam box (was 199, now 129) to JBL and Brookstone models also in the hundred dollar range, I happened upon this "sleeper" SimplyVibe unit on Amazon which seemed at first too good to be true - the best of all worlds: small, well constructed, stereo speakers with a bass port, works as a speakerphone, with the added attraction of use as a power source for charging other devices ... all for less than fifty dollars? Although there were only 3 reviews, they were all 5 stars so I decided to give it a shot and am so happy I did. This won't remain a "sleeper" for long. For the size of the unit, the sound is amazing, easily fills a room, definitely as good as the jam box, and better constructed with its hard rubberized exterior ... won't scratch or dent like thin metal models. It's so small it easily fits in a laptop bag accessory pouch. Roughly 7" wide, 2" high, 1.5" deep, weighs less than a pound. Would definitely recommend and buy for others as gifts.

I was pleasantly surprised, as this speaker is lightweight yet carries a nice sound. It's well worth the price, especially in this low price point of under 50 bucks.Two caveats: First, this unit works well indoors but the volume will not carry well outdoors. So if you think this bluetooth speaker will suffice for an outdoor party, you will be sadly disappointed. That said, it's completely fine for having drinks on the patio with a few friends. Secondly, keep in mind that this is a bluetooth speaker, meaning connectivity will get lost if your source (eg, iPhone) strays too far from the speaker, or if two walls get in the way. I'd say it can handle up to 25 feet, which is not terrible.Overall, this speaker is a quality product and a very good value. Thank you Amazon!Additional note: This little speaker saved my behind on a recent trip. With a low phone battery and no adapter, I was able to use a lightning cable to draw power from the speaker and fully charge my iPhone. Bonus!!

I'm pretty certain this is just a rebranded JLAB Crasher. The specs are identical, the buttons are in the exact same place, and most of the marketing lingo looks like it was only slightly changed. It's also got a light rubberized coating everywhere which I like.As for the sound, it's pretty impressive for such a little thing. I've gone through several bluetooth speakers and this has a fuller sound than any others I've run into. The little subwoofer does a lot of work, though you'll want to make sure to have the other speakers facing you for best effect. I've tried it with lots of different types of music and it's incredibly clear - it's very capable across the frequency range.My only complaint so far is really just a double-edged sword. It seems to go to sleep fairly quickly if you're not actively playing music to conserve battery, but that seems to be why it'll only charge attached devices while playing music - so it's not as utilitarian as I'd hoped.All in all, as a speaker it's fantastic, and blows away other speakers in its price range.

I like a lot about this little speaker. It is unobtrusive, loud, good quality sound for me, and I'm not an audiophile. It sounds better than the speakers built into my nexus 7, and was working great. I liked the bluetooth because I could use my tablet at the same time.After a couple of days, however, the speaker simply stopped connecting to the tablet, even with a wire. I was rather disappointed, because it worked rather well until that point.I'm planning to return it and hopefully get another one to see if it's just a lemon.UPDATE 6/30/2014 - I realized today I never updated this review. I never got this one again, but got a SoundBrick from URGE, I think it's called. And it works great. No complaints. Not sure about this if it was a lemon or not.

Just received mine paired right up and sound is better than what I expected for such a small unit and price.Feels sturdy and I like that it's rubberized so it has a nice grip to it.Can only compare it to the JLabs Crasher since we have one of those and it's ever bit as good as the Crasher.So far it was a very good purchase.Followup:Have used this quite a bit and battery lasts me all day, not sure how long would need to go to deplete battery but has gone for 10 hours no problem.Would definitely buy this product again.

Wanted a speaker that I could use around the house while doing chores and such. This little Bluetooth speaker connects to any Bluetooth device I have very easily and sounds great for its little size. I've paired it with my android phone, ipod touch and a netbook. Just press the pair button on the side of the speaker and it will pair with any scanning Bluetooth device. One device at a time, of course. You can run completely wireless off the internal battery or plug in a micro usb power adapter. The speaker will work while charging. Also the other USB port is pass-thru, so it will charge a phone or ipod connected to it with a USB cord. Or use the internal battery as an emergency power source. The manual does warn not to charge a usb connected device that requires more than 1A. So iphones and ipads may not charge while plugged into this speaker. If you are looking for a speaker for easy listening, this one is perfect. It has very clear mids and highs and sufficient lows. Keep in mind it's not a boom box, far from it. This speaker remains very clear and undistorted at high volume. As an added plus, it works as a speaker phone while connected to your Bluetooth enabled phone.
