wonderful with one catch~!
I really like this gift for the kids, they love playing with the leapfrog book all-dayhowever, there has been an issue with the battery, it does not last more than 2 hours which is very ridiculous! the kids get frustrated with it when it keeps prompting them to "Time to change battery" really we just changed the battery! I am giving it 5 stars because I see my 4 years old son learning a lot just by playing with this fun book. and my 6 years old son is happy when he listens to the stories the different books have to offer.

Very educational & useful tool video.
My daughter is now 3 year old and she started watching Leapfrog videos since she is 1.5 year old. At her age she now recognize all the letters and its sounds. She can count up to 30 and recognize numbers up to 50. The Great Shape Mystery helps her recognize all the shapes. The videos itself are very helpful for your kids to learns plus your guidance makes her/him learns fast.I highly recommended all the Leapfrog videos.

Early Learning is important
Most of these Leapfrog educational programs are on YouTube, or something very similar. I bought a set of these DVD’s, but my grandson only watch them once, because his parents don’t play them. However, ever since he was one month he been watch different kids nursery rhymes, and preschool learning programs on YouTube, he is now only 20 months, but since he was 17 months, he can say his alphabet’s, recognizes his upper and lower case letters, can count to 20, and recognize the number when he see them, he know his colors, and can identify the differences in red and pink and other colors, he know the name and recognize just about all his shapes. He know the names and pictures of just about all the animals you would see in a zoo, and there are numerous nursery rhyme song he can sing and follow the hand movements that goes with the songs. I started this training with my grandson because his parents and others was saying he was too young, he wouldn’t understand the stories I was reading at one month. But he would seat in my arms and look up at my eyes and mouth and listen, and when his parent saw this his dad started reading to him at night time. He watch the YouTube a lot, and still do, he likes learning. This is what I did with his father, and that is why he excelled in school. My message is, don’t feel like you have to wait until a baby turn two or three years old to start teaching, start from the day they come home from the hospital. The most important years of a child’s like is from the day they are born, to five years old. Read to your child, turn on the YouTube, or go ahead and buy the Leapfrog DVD’s, just teach on a daily basic and let’s make all kids a well around educator.

Fails with song audio
This video is great for the learning kid. But the audio when a song comes on just sounds so muffled and low. Really sad.

Love it!
We love LeapFrog! I homeschool my kids, ages 5 and 2, and Leap Frog works perfectly on those days where someone is sick or we just need a break. It's Educational, so they're still learning! My kids really enjoy it, too!

Ok for kindergarten
This is OK, it practices some solid math basics in a conventional way. No songs which I'm used too so again the new ones are a little disappointing. I find concepts go through better when played with catchy tunes to get a concept. It doesn't draw small kids into it anymore because of lack of music but great for kindergarten and pre k any younger isn't the best way to learn the concept.

This really is educational, and my kids love it!
This is my daughter's favorite LeapFrog movie. The songs are annoying but extremely educational so how can we really complain? Both my kids (3.5 and 2) watch the LeapFrog movies like they are in a transe but they will then sing the songs for days afterwards. They just started watching these a few months and I can really tell a difference in how much they know and understand numbers. My son counts all the time, much more than my daughter did at his age. They watch them 3-4 times a week.

Awesome videos!
Love these videos! They're cute and catchy but not babyish - although the babies still love them! We've been collecting these videos for years and this is another great one!
