Should be a 2-star rating, But there are undeniable merits that warrant a higher rating
I recently received the Taser & Kubaton safety keychain combo through the Vine program, and here's my personal opinion after evaluating the product. Both the Taser and Kubaton are surprisingly well constructed from good materials, feeling solid and durable in hand. The price point for the set also feels quite reasonable given the quality of the components. The Taser itself, while visually compact, has a very loud and intimidating crackle when activated. This noise alone could be a significant deterrent, potentially scaring off an attacker before any physical contact is made. However, in terms of actual stopping power, it feels more like a sharp "bee sting" than a debilitating shock. It certainly does not possess the "kick" of a standard stun device, and I strongly feel the sentiment that the marketing images depicting it affecting large wild animals are highly misleading – this device is unlikely to have any significant impact on such threats. It is also important to remember to switch it on at the top near the charging port before use. The integrated flashlight is quite dim, perhaps only useful for tasks like finding a keyhole in the dark. The kubaton, on the other hand, is a solid, effective defensive tool. While described as a window breaker, its true utility lies as a keychain-based self-defense weapon. I strongly suggest researching how to properly use a kubaton is highly recommended to maximize its effectiveness. It is crucial to remember that both of these tools require proximity to an assailant for deployment. General awareness of your surroundings remains your best first line of defense. While the product's advertising might oversell its capabilities, particularly the Taser’s power, and for that reason, should be a 2-star rating, there are undeniable merits that warrant a higher rating than initially considered. I am giving this combo 4 out of 5 stars. One star each for the excellent construction and materials 1, the reasonable price .5, the effectiveness of the kubaton 1, and the deterrent noise of the Taser 1 (and the fact that having something is better than nothing, .5).

Kool gadgets, ideal if never needed but useful if so.
Simple, easy to charge zapper and it works with zapping and crackling. Flashlight not impressing too much, good to find the keyhole. Won't test it on myself, sort of a handy tool for when something louder is not convenient or required. The pointy object is kool, use blunt or pointy end and it fills the hand nicely. Poke or thump, your choice, or rake pointy end across soft bits. Neither are true heavy weight tools but can certainly help in a pinch if nothing else is available at hand.

Worth the purchase for the added peace of mind.
This is a tough item to review. It isn't like many things that you can try out and see if it works. (hopefully this is an item that is never needed). But with that said, I've actually worked in a field that required training and usage of stun guns and similar items. This definitely has the same sort of feel to it, and I feel good about my daughter carrying it with her when out working in less than optimum locations. It appears to be well built, and the added function of a flashlight built in is a huge bonus, I also like how a quick button flip can go from flashlight to deterrent. Plus the sound of the electrical contacts popping in and of themselves can give pause to would be attackers to convince them to change their mind.

Light and pocketable
Kubaton pen is very light, but strong.Well made and fits nicely in hand. The stun gun make real loud sound. Charged via microUSB (maybe this is old stock, since everyone now use USB C?), and it was fully charged from factory charge within a hour on my charger. The slide switch right above microUSB port turn on/off the stun pen. Once turn on, you can slide another switch on the body to switch from flash light to stun flash.Stun pen is also light weight.Flash light isn't very light. It's darker than my phone LED light, but works in emergency.I haven't stun test myself, so I cannot say sure about how strong electricity shot is, but it sure make loud sound when switch is pressed. Both pens are light and fits in pocket easily.Good value.

Great keychain, not so sure about the taser.
The media could not be loaded. First, the tactical keychain is much more practical than the taser, but the taser is more likely to serve as a deterrent. The tactical keychain is lightweight and perfectly sized. When gripped properly, it is almost concealed in my hand, and the grooves keep it held securely. It a single piece of aluminum and seems well constructed. The taser, on the other hand, looks and feels a bit cheap. It's also difficult to use. First, you have to switch the unit on with a tab at the base of the unit. Then you have two options. If the sliding switch on the side is down, the button operates the flashlight function (see video for demo). With the sliding switch in the forward position, you can then operate the taser. The taser is loud, which is a good deterrent. I have not tried it out on myself (because that's not my thing), but I'm sure it can deliver a painful sting. The other item to note is that the charging port is not the more standard USB-C. Instead, it's a USB-micro port. Fortunately, it comes with a charging cable, and it does charge quickly.
