Weber 8701 Premium Grill Cover Fits Performer Series

I tried other places, Lowe's, Home Depot, BBQs Galore and other web sites, returning them all. I would have saved a lot of time just by ordering from Amazon where I have always received great service. My previous cover was from Target, was very thin and not very expensive. This Weber cover is of a heavier material, is well made and fits my Performer perfectly. I bbq two to three times a week Spring to mid-Fall and, weather permitting, once or twice a week during the Winter. Though this cover is more expensive, it is worth it. Spend the extra money, you won't be sorry.Update: My previous cover lasted just two seasons, ripping at the two cart handles. To eliminate the possibility of future rips, I cut a X in two tennis balls and attached them to the handle ends. Works great.for a cover that fit my Performer, Lowe's, returning them all. I should have just shopped Amazon to begin with since I have always received great service. This cover fits perfectly. My old less expensive cover (not a Weber) lasted just two seasons, ripping at both handle locations. I sliced two tennis balls and slipped them over the handles; no more sharp edges

This is the original Weber cover. It is extremely rugged. It survived the Washington DC summer on a sunny deck with no visible change, which is much better than its generic predecessor that bleached out and became brittle. Most important for us, it fits the older style Performer grill with the stainless steel table top. Note that the newer grills with plastic table tops are smaller - the cover specific to them will not work for the older grill. If you have one of the old style grills, and need a new cover, this is the answer.

This is a very good cover for the Weber Performer grill. It's very well made in a number of ways. It's a good thickness and made of a rubberized material so it's ready for heavy-duty weather. It stays flexible and doesn't crack in the cold (we don't get very cold winters here in DC, but it seems to work below freezing). It's also well assembled and fits the grill perfectly. It even has a small mesh window over the kettle part of the grill...either so you can see what color your grill is or to let moisture out, you decide.The only negative I have to report is that the cover smells a bit funny when you receive it (the rubber I think). Fortunately, the smell goes away after a few days.Overall, I'd say this is an excellent cover at a good price. Initially I was hesitant to get this since I thought some of the cheaper covers I've seen around would be just fine. I'm glad I decided to get this one. I think it will last much longer than the other (thinner, less flexible) ones I've seen and the fit is much better which just looks better when the grill is sitting covered in the backyard.Hope this is helpful and good luck with your purchase!dc

Careful to order the right one based on the model year. If you have an older performer series grill, this is the one for you and it is a perfect fit.Revised 1/3/17...been meaning to write this for months and kept forgetting. I live in northern Illinois and grill year round, so the cover is important to keep my grill protected in winter. This cover fits the older version of the performer touch-n-go series. However, after 1 year it was cracking and by the middle of the summer (2016) it was completely torn everywhere and effectively useless. Since there are few options out there, be prepared that you are paying $50+ every 2 years.

I had a really hard time finding a cover that fit my husbands 12 year old, full size charcoal Weber grill with the stainless steel table, since the grill is no longer made! (Poor choice to discontinue on Webers end since the grill rocks!)I wasn't sure I had the right one due to the poor description and no measurement given. My husband was thrilled that we FINALLY found the perfect fit after 12 years of poor quality, sloppy fitting covers. This cover is made of high quality materials and stays put even in windy conditions!We love it!!

Update August, 2017: I bought this in 2014, and it was great for a year. After a winter outside, the following summer the cover was kind of stiff & felt like it had shrunk. After another year, it was almost impossible to get on the grill, and the stiffness meant that it cracked whenever it was folded. Net result is that I now have a cover that I can't use. Can't seem to locate another one to fit the older style performer grill, so I guess I will have to buy another one & only get 2 years or so out of it. Wish there were an alternative, but there isn't. At nearly $60, it's an expensive temporary solution.If you have an older Weber Performer grill (with the 5 lb. propane tank), this is the cover that will work. Fits perfectly. The only difference from the one I bought when I bought the grill ten years ago is this one doesn't have a mesh panel over the lid handle. Not sure that makes a difference. In any event, this looks like it will work OK. Just wish it were not so expensive...

It's a great and proper fit and cover, only downside I wish for improvement on is if the vinyl were more durable than it is. It'll last but that newness look and feel only made it through the summer. It was a hot summer (2020) here in NY, but it should withstand it better. It is still holding up well in the winter of 2021.
