Chronicles of Majnun Layla and Selected Poems (Middle East Literature In Translation)

Haddad’s version of the Layla Majnun tale is absolutely beautiful, and the translation is lively and engaging. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in this love story whether or not they are familiar with the tradition.The other poems in the collection offer a delightful sample of Haddad’s powerful poetry. I cannot recommend this highly enough.
